Jill Vertes wasn’t one of the original "Dance Moms," but when her daughter Kendall won a spot on Abby Lee Miller's team after an open casting call, Jill fit in with the other moms as if she’d been there from the start. Though the moms starring on the show often got into drama, Vertes and her co-stars have calmer and more harmonious lives today.
Before becoming a reality TV star and influencer, Vertes was a pharmaceutical sales rep for 10 years; she gave up the lucrative career to be a part of "Dance Moms" and has never looked back. "We can't deny what we went through," Vertes said of herself and her former co-stars. "We're gonna learn from it and move on, and now we have this friendship".
As Vertes says, the "Dance Moms" squad is still going strong, and in September 2020, Vertes, Melissa Gisoni, Kelly Hyland, and Holly Hatcher-Frazier started a podcast called "Because Mom Said So." Once a week, they get together to talk about topics that other moms are interested in, from fitness goals to the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial.
