Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey were the "it" couple of the 1990s, dating for years before marrying in 2002. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and they divorced in 2005, leaving admirers to speculate as to what caused their surprise split.

Fans speculated that the couple's desire to appear in the reality show "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica" contributed to their split. However, Simpson says that the stress of her earning more endorsement agreements without Lachey, as well as their constant portrayal of being the perfect couple, led to their breakup.
