Candace Cameron Bure has been a leading star for the Hallmark Channel; she’s been in over 24 holiday films, many being Christmas movies such as “The Christmas Contest” in 2021. However, after many years with Hallmark, Bure is leaving to join the channel's biggest competitor.
Bure decided to leave in order to pursue a bigger career at GAC Family. TVLine says Bure will not only act and produce original films, but she will also have an executive position within the company, to help GAC Family and GAC Living produce quality content in line with their goals and values.
GAC Family is a network that focuses on faith and produces fewer holiday movies, which may be another reason Bure left Hallmark. Bure cites “faith” as a reason she’s excited to work with her new network: “I'm very excited to develop heartwarming family and faith-filled programming [...] GAC fits my brand perfectly”.
