Christine McVie, singer, songwriter, and keyboardist for Fleetwood Mac, has passed away at age 79, as confirmed by her family. Their statement reported that "She passed away peacefully at [the] hospital this morning, Wednesday, November 30th, 2022, following a short illness […] We kindly ask that you respect the family's privacy at this extremely painful time.”
Christine McVie, born Christine Perfect, was onboard with Fleetwood Mac when it was a British blues-rock band, before Americans Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined. She left the band in 1998 but returned in 2014, touring the world during the group's revival.
Fleetwood Mac released a statement on Twitter that read, "There are no words to describe our sadness at the passing of Christine McVie. She was truly one-of-a-kind, special, and talented beyond measure [...] She will be so very missed."
