In 2018, HBO released the docuseries "Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind," which explores the late actor’s complex life and takes a dive into his three marriages.
Williams was married to his first wife, Valerie Velardi, from 1978 to 1988. The couple divorced due to the actor’s infidelity, which Velardi discusses in the docuseries.
While Velardi allowed her husband’s infidelity to some extent, the couple grew apart. Their lifestyles didn’t match up anymore and they eventually gave each other up.
She told HBO, "He loved women. [...] And I got it, I understood and I wanted him to have that. But I also wanted him to come home." The divorce also came in the wake of a scandal.
Williams ended up starting a relationship with Marsha Garces, the former couple’s nanny. They were married from 1989 to 2010 and would go on to have two children.
The actor’s third and final marriage to Susan Schneider came only a year after his second divorce. They were married until his death in 2014.
