Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first public appearance in the United Kingdom since stepping down as working royals, and they were greeted warmly by the crowd. Yet despite the warm welcome, Harry and Meghan decided to head home before the Queen's final appearance on the royal balcony.
The couple left an hour before Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee ended, taking a private jet back to California with their children. A source revealed, "There was no fanfare, they just went. They didn't stick around for the Platinum Jubilee pageant which is a celebration of Britain and all of its quirks and eccentricities over the Queen's 70 year reign."
For the most part, Harry and Meghan remained unnoticed during the Jubilee celebrations, skipping a luncheon at the Guildhall and a family meeting after the Trooping of the Colour, as well as noticeably not socializing with Prince William and Kate Middleton. However, it could be that the four decided not to interact as to not take the spotlight away from Queen Elizabeth.
