Lisa Marie Presley was married to musician Danny Keough from 1988 to 1994, and the two shared two children together, Benjamin (who passed away in 2020) and Riley. The couple married when Keough was 23 and Presley was just 20.
Keough and Presley tied the knot at the Celebrity Center of the Church of Scientology in West Hollywood with just nine people in attendance, including Priscilla Presley. People magazine reported at the time that Keough was a Chicago-born transplant to California, who followed his mother and stepfather into Scientology.
Keough was working as a jobbing bass player when he met Presley in 1984 at the church’s Celebrity Center, where she had an apartment at the time. Even though the two divorced in 1994, and Presley would marry Michael Jackson just 20 days later, they would remain close friends.
Former couple Presley and Keough proved just how close they were when the musician moved in with his former wife to assist in the grieving process following the devastating loss of their son in 2020. Describing it as "an extraordinarily difficult time" for the mother of four, an insider noted that Keough was "a rock" for his ex-wife.
