Prior to working online, she was a News and Feature writer for a small, weekly local newspaper in the Philippines. She eventually became the Bureau Chief of the same print publication. She eventually joined a diverse roster of freelance writers online, focused on celebrity news and reality TV. After a few years, she took a different route and tried her hand at finance and marketing topics. Vanessa became a contributor and quality checker for several personal finance websites under District Media. Vanessa returned to writing entertainment pieces this year, joining Static Media as a news writer for The List.

Education

Vanessa has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from University of the East in the Philippines. She also took a short course in Industrial Design.
