The Unexpected Theme Of Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck's Wedding
Raise your hand if you're obsessed with Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's weekend wedding in Georgia! Of course, fans want to know every detail of the nuptials that joined the two Hollywood stars in holy matrimony — again. As followers of the duo are well aware, they first said "I do" during a quickie Las Vegas ceremony last month.
Now, the singer and Oscar winner did the real deal in front of family and friends — but not Jennifer Garner, the mother of Affleck's three kids or his brother Casey Affleck — with the bride wearing a white Ralph Lauren gown and the wedding centering around a theme that may surprise their fans (via Harper's Bazaar).
First, it seemed one theme that dominated the affair was the color white, with Page Six reporting that in addition to Lopez and the famous groom, the couple's kids — they have five between them — also donned the pure hue. And, according to the Daily Mail, guests were also instructed to wear white for the occasion. Meanwhile, the outlet reports that Old Hollywood glam was another thread that was woven into the details of the most-flashy affair we've seen in quite some time.
The wedding was farmhouse Old Hollywood chic
That Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck held their wedding reception in a farmhouse on the "Argo" star's Georgia property makes the choice to introduce an Old Hollywood theme perhaps even more unexpected. But the Daily Mail reports that merged with rustic details like a series of wooden signs were posters from classic films like "Gone With The Wind" and "Casablanca" for guests to take in as they toasted the duo.
As guests wore white, they likely stood out among the decor, with deep colors like maroon and purple being used for table linens and floral arrangements. Adorably, violets were incorporated to honor Affleck's daughter, Violet.
A wooden bar was also constructed, where friends and family reportedly enjoyed cigars. And although the reception cost $400,000 and took place at the A-lister's nearly $9 million mansion situated on 87 acres, one source ironically told the Daily Mail about the affair, "It was all really tasteful and not nearly as splashy as you might have expected from two such huge stars."
The couple reportedly hired wedding planner to the stars Colin Cowie to coordinate the three-day celebration (via Page Six).
