What We Know About Donald Trump's Grandchildren

Donald Trump Sr. is known for a lot of things. As the 45th president of the United States, Trump drew both ire and respect from a swath of people across the United States. As a father and grandfather, it's likely he draws both — and everything in between.

To date, Donald Trump Sr. is a grandfather to 10 grandchildren, all of which have been born to three of his children: Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Ivanka Trump. Trump Sr. has given a number of interviews and quotes about what it's like to be a grandfather in recent years, and as Bustle points out, many seem to point to what appears to be his dislike for aging. As he once told Fox & Friends, "Well, the psychology of a grandfather tends to bother me a little bit because it tends to represent lots of good things, but one not-so-good thing. But that's okay. We're very happy about it."

Whatever his feelings about the psychology of grandparenthood, there's no denying that these 10 children call the former president "grandfather."

Spencer Frederick Trump is Donald Trump Jr.'s fourth child

Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa Trump welcomed their fourth child together, a son they named Spencer Frederick, in October 2012. Per People, the couple had announced the pregnancy in May of the same year. Trump Jr. simply told People following the birth, "I'm thrilled. The baby is healthy and beautiful."

Trump Jr. was a little more chatty about Spencer's birth on Twitter, where he shared the inspiration behind the baby's name. As he tweeted in response to someone who asked about it, he wrote, "Yes, Spencer Frederick Trump! Spencer because we liked it, Fred after my grandfather."

Trump Jr. and Vanessa haven't shared too much about Spencer publicly, but in May 2018, Vanessa revealed on Twitter that the little boy was getting ready to begin kindergarten ahead of the upcoming 2018-2019 school year.

Kai Madison Trump lives a pretty lavish life

Donald Trump was president of the United States from 2016 to 2020, and his granddaughter Kai Trump appears to have had the opportunity to make the most of that time. Kai is only a year younger than Donald and Melania Trump's son Barron, which means she was more than old enough to enjoy the perks that came with having a grandparent in the White House (per SCMP). Among those perks were attending White House events, riding on the presidential helicopter, and sitting in the Oval Office chair.

Kai joined the family all the way back in 2007. Her mom told Posh Cravings that she and her ex-husband didn't find out the biological sex of the baby ahead of time, but she did go ahead and decorate her child's room in a teddy bear theme. She also admitted to the publication that her pregnancy with Kai ended up being a little more tiring than she expected, saying, "I didn't expect to be so tired. People told me that in the beginning you have a lot of energy, but I was exhausted all along and had to force myself to take a rest." (via People).

Donald Trump Sr. was on hand to welcome Tristan into the fold soon after his birth, and he expressed his "delight" at the addition to the family to People.

While Tristan's parents haven't spoken a lot about him to the media, Donald Trump Jr. did open up to DailyMailTV about his fear for his sons during the confirmation hearings for Supreme Justice Brett Kavanaugh. In fact, Trump Jr. told the outlet that he worries more for his sons than his daughters, saying, "I've got boys, and I've got girls. And when I see what's going on right now, it's scary."

Donald Trump III carries on the family name

As if one or two Donald Trumps aren't enough for the world, there's also a third. Donald Trump III was born in 2009, four years after his father and mother got married. As noted by Bustle, there isn't an abundance of information available about Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump's oldest son. This is largely due to the respect for privacy that is typically given to minor members of the presidential family.

However, the third male to carry the name Donald Trump has popped up in the news from time to time, even if he had no idea. In March 2017, Secret Service agents who were charged with transporting the little boy were called in for questioning after they took selfies with him as he slept. As reported by Mother Jones, the incident happened while the agents were tasked with driving Trump III to Manhattan. He reportedly woke up while the agents were taking the photos and, as the publication puts it, "freaked out."

Chloe Sophia Trump joined her family in June 2014

Chloe Sophia Trump joined the family of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa Trump in 2014, the fifth child of the former couple. Her birth was announced on Twitter by her father, who wrote, "Its a girl!!!! @MrsVanessaTrump and I are very excited to be bringing home our little bundle of joy today. #FullHouse."

Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa did not find out the biological sex of their daughter before her birth, choosing instead to be surprised. Before Chloe arrived, they were already parents to one daughter, Kai, and three sons.

Like the rest of Donald Trump's grandchildren, Chloe has largely been missing from the limelight. However, Chloe and her siblings do make appearances on their mother's Twitter account from to time. In 2019, Vanessa shared a collage of photos of Chloe to celebrate her fifth birthday and wrote, "Happy 5th birthday to my princess Chloe Sophia! You always make everyone smile ! May all your dreams come true ! We all love you!" (via Twitter).

Arabella Rose Kushner is the oldest child of Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner

Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner welcomed their daughter, Arabella Rose Kushner, on July 17, 2011. Her grandfather was only too happy to announce the news when he appeared on "Fox & Friends." He told the show's audience, "I just left the hospital and the baby is beautiful. [Ivanka's] doing great. Arabella Rose is the baby's name — I just found that out, by the way" (via Popsugar).

As the oldest of Ivanka and Jared's children, Arabella was able to enjoy a lot of Donald Trump's time in the White House. Unfortunately, not all of that time was fun for the little girl. In 2019, she suffered a head injury after hitting her head during a version of the game dodgeball. Her mom announced the news in her Instagram Stories, writing, "Yesterday Arabella slipped playing Gaga and hit her head hard. Thankfully, she is fine" (via E! News).

Arabella has been enjoying life in Miami, Florida with her family since her grandfather left the Oval Office. As shared by Hello! Magazine in May 2022, the family of five appears to enjoy frequenting the beach.

Theodore James Kushner was born in 2016

Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner welcomed their son, Theodore James Kushner, on March 27, 2016. Ivanka shared the news on Twitter, writing, "Jared and I feel incredibly blessed to announce the arrival of Theodore James Kushner. Xx Ivanka" along with a birth announcement. Theodore is the youngest of Ivanka and Jared's three children.

Ivanka had previously confirmed the news to People, telling the outlet, "Jared and I are thrilled to announce that we'll be welcoming baby number three to our family early next year. It's an incredible blessing," before stepping out in public to show off her baby bump. However, she admitted to the magazine that her daughter Arabella had actually announced the pregnancy first. She said, "Arabella [announced] to everyone I was pregnant prior to me announcing it to even my family. Her whole nursery school class was congratulating me."

Like the rest of the Trump grandchildren, Theodore doesn't get a lot of press attention, which is likely because he is still very young. However, The Daily Mail shared in June 2022 that he enjoys going to the beach with his father and two siblings, noting that the group is often photographed having a good time playing together at their home in Surfside, Florida.

Joseph and his cousin Spencer Trump share a middle name, which was chosen as an homage to Ivanka's grandfather, Frederick Trump. Joseph was also named after his grandfather on Jared Kushner's side. As noted by People, Ivanka explained at the time, "Jared's grandfather, Joseph, was a rock. His indomitable spirit, his sense of family, and his work ethic are the values we hope to hand down to our son."

She went on to write that her own grandfather, Frederick, built homes for "tens of thousands" in New York City, and also built a family that was close and that could rely on one another (via People).

Eric Luke Trump joined the family in September 2017

Eric and Lara Trump announced the arrival of their first child together, a son named Eric Luke Trump, in September 2017. As the BBC noted at the time, then-President Trump shared the news of the baby's birth on Twitter, where he wrote, "Congratulations to Eric & Lara on the birth of their son, Eric 'Luke' Trump this morning!"

Eric said the pair actually found out about their first child's impending arrival on his birthday, which he said was "pretty cool." Lara also explained to the outlet that the first trimester of her pregnancy was tiring, which came as a surprise to her. As she put it, "It surprised me, because I'm a very active person, and until the fatigue hit, I didn't believe it would actually happen to me."

Carolina Dorothy Trump is the child of Eric and Lara Trump

Carolina Dorothy Trump became the 10th grandchild of Donald Trump Sr. when she was born on August 21, 2019. Eric Trump announced the birth of his daughter on Twitter, where he wrote, "@LaraLeaTrump and I are excited to welcome Carolina Dorothy Trump into the world. We love you already!"
