The Young And The Restless' Camryn Grimes Is Creating The Perfect Wedding
Actress Camryn Grimes has been a part of the "Young and the Restless" family since 1997 when she joined the show as Cassie Newman. A few years later Grimes became the youngest winner ever of the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series at the age of 10, according to CBS. In 2005, her character Cassie was killed off the show, but it wouldn't be the last time Grimes stepped foot on the "Y&R" set. In 2014, the actress returned to the soap to play Cassie's long-lost twin Mariah Copeland. In the years since she rejoined the cast, Grimes' Mariah has become best-known for her same-sex relationship with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), which was met with much praise from fans who have dubbed them "Teriah." The couple wed in May 2022 and made history as the first same-sex marriage on "Y&R" (via CheatSheet).
This is a big year for Camryn Grimes as she also celebrated her 25th anniversary on the soap and is preparing to walk down the aisle in real life, as well. On Grimes' 32nd birthday in January 2022, she became engaged to her partner and voice-over actor Brock Powell, who created a sweet proposal themed after the movie "Up" and included their pup Riley in the festivities (via People). Powell told the magazine, "The only thing I could think about was making it perfect for this woman who has brought so much joy into my life." In the months since Grimes said "yes" she's been busy planning their upcoming nuptials.
Grimes and Powell have chosen a wedding venue
Though few details have been released, the couple is definitely making progress in planning the wedding. On July 26th Grimes posted to her Instagram page to let her fans know that she and Powell had finally selected a venue for their ceremony. She revealed that they would be getting married in San Diego, but are choosing to keep the exact location private for the time being. She went on to ask for help from her followers, writing, "Here's where YOU guys come in. I need suggestions of everything and everywhere San Diego has to offer in the wedding department! Send all the recommendations my way and I will love you forever."
According to Soaps in Depth, the couple began dating in March 2020 and after their engagement reveal, Grimes posted a message of gratitude to everyone who had supported the couple. She wrote "Thank you to all of you for the congratulations and well wishes. Brock and I are deeply moved by your enthusiasm and excitement. We're kinda excited too. Just a bit." If fans have any suggestions about the San Diego area, make sure to head over to Grimes' social media and let her know — who knows, your ideas might just pop up in pictures of the big day when the couple finally ties the knot.
