Kate Middleton's New Favorite Shoe Is Giving Us Major Heart Eyes
Kate Middleton's shoe collection, how we love thee. Let us count the ways. First, although the Duchess of Cambridge has always hit it out of the castle with her choice of footwear—and fashion for that matter—royal watchers have noticed that the future queen has stepped it up with her below-the-ankle accessories of late.
Case in point: Kate may have taken a page out of Meghan Markle's pump playbook by adopting her love of Aquazzura stilettos. Indeed, the duchess donned an embellished pair to Garter Day, of which we collectively took notice.
Meanwhile, Vogue U.K. notes that Kate has seemingly favored another brand of heels that has our attention. Indeed, judging from countless photos of the eventual queen, we agree that she is all about the Jimmy Choo Romy shoe. With more than two dozen color options to choose from, it seems that Kate may own just about every one, from formal, wear-with-everything black, to a glitter-encrusted pair. Yes, really.
From high-profile events such as Meghan and Prince Harry's wedding in 2018, to a 2022 garden party, clearly Kate is as gaga for Jimmy Choo as we are looking at the lovely, pointy pumps.
Kate Middleton has a love for Jimmy Choo in common with another woman in Prince William's life
Of course, it's not as if Kate Middleton is the first celebrity to fall in love with Jimmy Choo, with countless other bold-faced names sporting the shoes for many years. In fact, Princess Diana was a Choo devotee long before the Duchess of Cambridge was, well, the Duchess of Cambridge (via Harper's Bazaar). As the designer once said about his relationship with the Princess of Wales, "She always sent me a card that said, 'Thanks, Jimmy, thanks for coming to Kensington Palace to see me'" (via Popsugar).
Since Jimmy Choo heels are clearly favored by the rich, famous and royal, you won't be shocked to learn that the footwear has the price tag to match, with Kate's favorite Romy style retailing for $695.
Not that the cost of her Romys is a deterrent for the stylish princess, about whom Sandra Choi, Jimmy Choo's creative director, told Vogue U.K., "The Romy heels have become her trusted friend. Their poised elegance, refined glamour and versatility provides a style that you can be confident in."
