According to Soaps in Depth, Vivian first came to Salem in March 1992. She was introduced to viewers as a member of the Alamain family who wanted to take over her family's business. However, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) had taken over the business instead. Since that time, Vivian has been a part of some of the most shocking plot twists in "Days of Our Lives" history, and her resume of evil deeds is a pretty impressive one for a soap villain.

Vivian and Kate have a lot of bad blood between them

Fans who have been watching "Days of Our Lives" for many years know that Vivian Alamain has created so much drama for the people of Salem throughout the decades. When Vivian first arrived in town, she quickly stirred up trouble when she shot a man named Alphonse LeBeque when he held her nephew, Lawrence Alamain, at gunpoint (via Soaps). Eventually, after being unable to control her family's business, Vivian decided to marry Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) in hopes of gaining a bit of power.

However, Victor eventually fell hard for Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow). Vivian couldn't stand the thought of Kate stealing her man, and vowed to get revenge on Kate by sabotaging an airplane that she was on, according to Soap Central. The plane crashed and Kate was presumed dead at the time. However, Kate returned to Salem to reunite with Victor much to Vivian's surprise. Kate and Vivian's feud continued, and Vivian pulled a really twisted move and stole Kate and Victor's embryo, and gave birth to their son Philip, as Soaps in Depth reported.

Vivian tormented Carly over the years

In addition to her feud with Kate Roberts, Vivian Alamain also had a longstanding war with Dr. Carly Manning (Crystal Chappell), per Soaps. Carly was betrothed to Vivian's nephew, Lawrence from a young age. Carly fell in love with Lawrence when he used a fake name, but she soon wanted out of the relationship. At the time, Carly was pregnant and thought Vivian was her friend. She asked Vivian for help to run from Lawrence.

When Carly gave birth to her son, Vivian faked the little boy's death and kidnapped him. She raised him as her adopted son Nikkie Alamain. However, Lawrence eventually found out the truth and confronted Vivian.

Despite her plans being foiled, Vivian plotted to keep Carly away from Nikki. During a time when Vivian was taking medication that altered her mind, she framed her nemesis for killing multiple patients and even injected Carly with a drug that made it appear that she had died. Vivian then had Carly buried alive with an oxygen tank and a radio so that she could torment Carly as her oxygen ran low and her life slipped away, according to Soap Central. However, once Vivian stopped taking the pills she confessed what she had done and Carly was ultimately saved.

Vivian's ill feelings toward Carly never went away. When it was discovered that Carly had a daughter, Melanie Jonas, Vivian attempted to kill Melanie (via Soaps in Depth). Thankfully, Victor Kiriakis stopped the evil plan.

Vivian targeted Maggie and brought Stefan to Salem

Years after Vivian Alamain's marriage with Victor Kiriakis had ended, she still found herself in love with her former partner. Victor had long divorced Kate Roberts and had moved on to have feelings for Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers). Of course, Vivian became wildly jealous of Victor and Maggie's relationship and concocted a plan to eliminate Maggie from Victor's life (via Soaps). Vivian recycled one of her most devilish plots and decided to have Maggie buried alive. However, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) found out and saved Maggie while also getting his own revenge on Vivian by placing her in a sarcophagus, per Soaps in Depth. Vivian later left Salem, but would return with a shocking bombshell.

In 2018, Vivian made a splash when she showed up at a New Year's Eve party with a handsome man on her arm. Vivian revealed that the man was actually her long-lost son, who was fathered by none other than Salem's most notorious villain, Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo). The man revealed that his name was Stefan O. DiMera and that he planned to claim his part of the DiMera fortune, business, and legacy (via Soaps in Depth).

Vivian nearly killed Kate and brought Leo to Salem

After bringing Stefan DiMera to Salem, Vivian Alamin continued her reign of terror. "Days of Our Lives" fans watched as Vivian reignited her feud with Kate Roberts. The two women struggled over a gun during an altercation and Vivian was shot and presumed dead, according to Soaps in Depth. However, Dr. Rolf brought her back to life with his resurrection serum. When Vivian later returned to Salem, she got revenge on Kate by shooting her and then pulling her all-time favorite move and burying her alive. Kate nearly died but she was also saved (via Soaps in Depth).

Meanwhile, Vivian was also responsible for bringing Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) to town. Leo was hired to seduce Sonny Kiriakis (then Freddie Smith) and then sue him for sexual harassment. Leo carried out his plan, but he was eventually exposed for his scheme, per Soaps.

"Days of Our Lives" viewers know all too well that Vivian is a forced to be reckoned with, and she's not a character to be taken lightly. She's caused a lot of pain and heartache over the years, which has offered a lot of entertainment and caused many fans to love to hate her.
