The Surprise Character Robert Scott Wilson Will Play When He Makes His Days Of Our Lives Return

"Days of Our Lives" viewers have come to love the pairing of Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal). The duo has become a super couple over the years, much like Ciara's on-screen parents, Bo and Hope Brady (via Paper).

However, fans were devastated when it was announced that both Wilson and Konefal were exiting the NBC soap opera (via Cheat Sheet). The pair officially left Salem to sail across the world with their newborn son, Bo Brady Weston, per Soap Opera Spy. A few days later, they docked in Montreal to visit Hope and their story continued on the Peacock limited series "Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem." Sadly, fans are now left without Ben and Ciara in Salem.

The character of Ben Weston has had a rollercoaster ride since his debut in 2014. The character was portrayed as mentally ill after arriving in town and later went on to become the Necktie Killer, who killed multiple Salemites (via Soaps). However, he got the help he needed and returned to Salem as a changed man. After falling in love with Ciara, Ben became more likable than ever and even turned into a bit of a hero character who saved his wife on multiple occasions.

However, now that Ben is off the canvas in Salem, Wilson is set to return as a character that fans haven't seen in a very long time.

Robert Scott Wilson is returning to DOOL as Alexander Kiriakis

"Days of Our Lives" fans may have said goodbye to Ben Weston, but Robert Scott Wilson is sticking around Salem. The actor has confirmed that he will be taking on the role of Alexander Kirkiakis, the son of Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and the late Anjelica Deveraux. "I got a great phone call about five, six months ago, about some changes coming and, long story short, turned myself into Alex Kiriakis," Wilson recently told TV Insider of his new role.

"It's been just the biggest breath of fresh air I could ever imagine," the actor continued. "I'm having more fun than I think I've ever had in any projects, whether it be daytime or film or regular TV...[Alex is] the polar opposite of Ben Weston."

In addition to tackling a brand new character, who is sure to be wearing suits and ties as a member of the prominent Kiriakis family, Wilson says that he's excited to work with actors like Wally Kurth and John Aniston (Victor Kiriakis), who will be playing his new family members on the soap opera (via Soaps).

"After the first few episodes, you're not going to see Ben Weston at all," Wilson promised fans. "We're telling a different story with a different person. If you can give it just that moment, I hope that they'll see that," he added.
