Models Who Married Regular People

Finding a celebrity who is dating or married to a model with killer looks isn't exactly hard to do. In fact, it seems like that's considered almost the norm in Hollywood, according to Us Weekly. Many stars and directors are seen out and about with the most beautiful models on their arms. But how often do we see models who married regular, everyday people? When we say normal, we mean people who aren't celebrities. These are people working blue or white collar jobs and who don't have paparazzi following them around at any given time.

Believe it or not, many models have dated someone who is an average Joe. After all, true love and the secrets to a long-lasting marriage can't be measured or predicted by how famous your spouse is. It's all about the love you share. These next couples are a testament to that fact. They are famous models with large followings who decided to marry someone who lives an entirely different lifestyle than their own.

Romee Strijd and Laurens van Leeuwen

Romee Strijd is a well-known Dutch supermodel with a highly successful YouTube channel and a long list of brands she's worked with over the years. She got her modeling career started at a young age and has gone on to become a Victoria's Secret angel among other awesome opportunities (via Entertainment Tonight). Her YouTube channel, which is now approaching two million subscribers, hosts a wide variety of videos that feature the fun-loving entrepreneur doing photoshoots, hanging out with her adorable baby girl, and talking about life as a mother.

However, she doesn't run the channel alone. Her husband, Laurens van Leeuwen, is a frequent costar. Van Leeuwen is a businessman who founded his own clothing line called NAETUR. Although the couple got together back in 2010, they've always wanted to do a traditional wedding ceremony. In a vlog from earlier this year, Strijd and van Leeuwen took off to Switzerland for a romantic getaway involving sledding, helicopter rides, and sightseeing. At the end of it all, van Leeuwen formally proposed to Strijd in front of a beautiful snowy mountain backdrop and a lovely, rose-scattered picnic. Of course, she said "yes" – this proposal was twelve years in the making, after all! The happy couple even recently announced that they are expecting their second child (via Page Six).

Devon Windsor and Johnny Dex

Devon Windsor is a jack of all trades. Not only is she a supermodel, but she runs her own fashion line that has clothing for everyone. She has been featured on the front cover of Harper's Bazaar, Maxim, Narcisse, Elle, Allure, and more (via Devon Windsor). In the social media atmosphere, Windsor's Instagram boasts nearly four million followers. When she's not strutting down the catwalk or posing for the camera, Windsor is an amateur chef as well, who even appeared and competed on Fox's "Master Chef" (via The Hollywood Reporter).

In November of 2019, Windsor tied the knot with Johnny Dex — aka Johnny Barbara (via W Magazine). Not much is known about the mysterious Dex or what he does for a living. One thing is for sure: The love these two share is just about palpable. He even designed Windsor's stunning engagement ring (via Page Six).

In a beautiful black-and-white photo posted to Instagram, Windsor and Dex announced their pregnancy to the world in 2021. Windsor wrote in the caption, "I have dreamt of being a mama my whole life. We are so grateful for this little angel in my belly, and are so excited for this new chapter in our lives!" This happy couple make us think of a real-life fairy tale!

Janice Dickinson and Dr. Robert Gerner

Janice Dickinson is the definition of an icon. She made it big as a supermodel in the 1970s, becoming known as one of the earliest fashion trendsetters (via Best Life). In a 2007 interview with Glenn Beck, Dickinson even described herself as the "world's first supermodel" (via CNN). Despite the controversies that plagued her past and a breast cancer scare, according to People, Dickinson has moved past it all and thrived. Now at the age of 67, Dickinson continues to be a fashion mogul that women around the world admire.

Her fighting spirit and talent have also earned her the admiration of her sweetheart and husband, Dr. Robert Gerner. The psychiatrist was her support system as she went through a breast cancer battle that she has since won. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Dr. Gerner stated, "Janice went through some phases, she was really strong with the surgeries, but the radiation treatment drains you of energy and she became fatigued and her normal level of hyper energy just went away." Dickinson says Rocky — as she affectionately calls her then-fiancé — was her "rock" during that time.

Because of health struggles, the two put off their wedding for around four years. However, good things come to those who wait! The two held a gorgeous outdoor ceremony with all their loved ones in attendance in 2016 (via People).
