Kate Middleton Gives Update On The Queen's Health As She Skips Multiple Platinum Jubilee Events

During the Platinum Jubilee, millions have been rallying around the amazing Queen Elizabeth II. As we watch the celebrations, the 96-year-old monarch shows she is an exceptional leader and person. Hearts even melted on June 2, as the queen watched her great-grandson, Louis, stand on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. The Daily Mail reported the 4-year-old and his "Gan Gan" were in deep conversation during the Trooping the Colour event. Louis stole the show during Trooping the Colour, making hilarious faces and covering his ears from the noise of the planes. The monarch was trying to distract the preschooler from the loud noise of the flyover, saying, "Look up at all that smoke!"

The queen is such an impressive leader that former President Barack Obama shared in a video that meeting the monarch was "one of the great privileges" of his time as president and even called her a "gift" to the world. "When you're president of the United States, you meet a lot of remarkable people, and you try under all circumstances to retain your composure," Obama said. "But that's harder than you think when you're visiting Her Majesty." While the world has been celebrating the queen for her Platinum Jubilee, she has also had to sit out from some celebrations due to her health.

Kate Middleton says Queen Elizabeth is 'fine'

Kate Middleton gave a health update about Queen Elizabeth II after the monarch missed the Platinum Jubilee service at St Paul's Cathedral. During a reception at Guildhall on June 3, People reported the Duchess of Cambridge gave an attendee an update that the queen was "fine" after the Trooping the Colour event. "Yes, she [the queen] was fine; it was just very tiring yesterday," the Duchess explained. Kate added the 96-year-old monarch "had a lovely time."

The palace confirmed the queen would opt out of another Platinum Jubilee event, the June 4 Derby at Epsom Downs. Palace officials told French news outlet AFP the queen felt "some discomfort" after the events on the first day of her Platinum Jubilee. The monarch has only missed Derby at Epsom Downs three times during her 70-year reign since she is a huge horse racing fan. While many understand the monarch is "fine," her absence during the celebrations reminds people about the monarchy's future without her, since she is beloved by millions around the world.

The Washington Post talked to Sue Wilmot, who celebrated the jubilee with her three children, and she summed up why the monarch is so beloved. Wilmot explained the Queen was "a rock in our lives — whenever things go wrong, she's this stable swan that just floats through and keeps everyone calm."

Kate Middleton has a special bond with Queen Elizabeth

Queen Elizabeth II and Kate Middleton's relationship is special, and Her Majesty is guiding her on how to wear the crown. Royal expert Andrew Morton said the queen values her relationship with Kate, and she believes the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are "very much as the future" of England. In May, Morton chatted with OK! (via Vanity Fair) and said the queen believes Prince Charles will be an interim ruler before the "burden of monarchy" ultimately falls on Kate and William's shoulders. The royal authority noted the monarch learned from the "mistake" she made with Prince Charles and Princess Diana and that she has spent "a lot of time" supporting Prince William and Kate's relationship.

Morton further explained that the queen had always been a big fan of Kate; she was impressed by Kate because she "adored and loved William for himself, not for his title." But the queen's mood on Kate and William's wedding day will melt your heart.

Queen Elizabeth was 'practically skipping' at Kate and William's wedding

Andrew Morton told The Mirror the queen was "practically skipping" on William and Kate's wedding day. The royal expert was Princess Diana's biographer, spilling all the royal tea in his 1992 book "Diana: Her True Story in Her Own Words." In Morton's new book, "The Queen," he wrote: "The queen was positively playful on the day of her grandson's nuptials, 'practically skipping' according to one observer, absolutely thrilled at the way the public had reacted to the royal newlyweds."

In seeing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tie the knot, Morton added, "[The queen] had a sense that the future of the royal family, her family, was so secure ... The monarchy was once again held in admiration and affection by the masses." But you don't have to be a royal expert to see the important relationship between Queen Elizabeth and the Duchess of Cambridge.

Many around the palace believe Kate is ready to rule. In a December cover story, a palace insider told People, "She has really come into her own." Kate and William have taken on more royal duties in the past year since the queen has battled health issues. A source close to the royal family told People that Kate is "more and more impressive as time goes on ... She is a focused and professional woman."
