Kim Kardashian's Alleged Snub From Buckingham Palace Amid Jubilee Has Everyone Talking
Europe is turning into the Kardashians' home away from home. Kourtney married Travis Barker in Italy on May 22, 2022. Clearly Kim enjoyed her time in the country, sharing a series of photos on Instagram documenting a boat ride to lunch with her oldest daughter North just days ago. Now we have learned that the mogul and her boyfriend Pete Davidson are in London, England, having flown to the British city early this week (via Elle). The couple is doing what we do when abroad, enjoying pubs and cafes and meanwhile, packing on the PDA.
Of course, as royal fans know, this week also marks the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, honoring her 70-year reign as monarch. Among the planned events for the momentous occasion was the time-honored Trooping the Colour event, which saw only working members of the royal family standing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace. Excluded from the photo opp were Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and Prince Andrew as well — who announced he had tested positive for COVID-19, a claim even a royal expert is calling suspicious given the timing.
Now we are learning that another high-profile celebrity may have also been snubbed by the royal family.
Kim Kardashian has been everywhere lately
Kim Kardashian's presence in London is interesting given that she knew the Queen's Platinum Jubilee would be going on at the same time. Did she visit hoping to attend one of the events this weekend?
It wouldn't be a stretch to think the reality star might be invited to a royal affair given the string of extremely high-profile opportunities she has been involved in of late. Not only did the SKIMS founder just appear on the cover of the "Sports Illustrated Swimsuit" edition, garnering mixed reactions from fans, but of course Kardashian wore a famous dress once owned by Marilyn Monroe to the Met Gala.
Kardashian also memorably hosted "SNL," and covered Vogue in February. But according to the Daily Mail, the mom of four has failed to secure an invite to a prestigious party for the Queen that will be attended by the likes of David Beckham.
Kim Kardashian's fabulousness may not translate in the United Kingdom
On Saturday, June 4, the Platinum Party will take place at Buckingham Palace. According to the official schedule of events for the Jubilee, the event is described this way: "The celebration will see famous faces from the world of entertainment brought together to perform for a night of musical tributes to celebrate the Jubilee."
But it seems Kim Kardashian's famous face will not be among the crowd.
The Daily Mail reports the star has been denied an invitation to the party, despite her multiple attempts. The outlet says the star is so set on attending the high-profile affair, she has said she will accept tickets that are not even VIP. As her reps reportedly said, "Kim rarely gets turned down to attend any event, so this has been quite surprising." The source added that the star and her beau Pete Davidson "love" the royal family and really desired to participate in the occasion.
Only time will tell if Kardashian eventually gets her way and scores a pair of tickets to the party! If so, we can't wait to see what the fashionista will wear.
