Who From Meghan Markle's Inner Circle Will Be Joining Her For The Queen's Jubilee?
The Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II will be held from June 2nd through June 5th celebrating an unprecedent 70-year-long reign of a monarch. As expected, such a historic event — it even has its own emoji — will unite the queen's family from all around, and that includes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. While they will be present at the celebration, many have noted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be participating on the official balcony, as reported to Harper's Bazaar. As a spokesperson told the outlet, "After careful consideration, The Queen has decided this year's traditional Trooping the Colour balcony appearance on Thursday 2nd June will be limited to Her Majesty and those Members of the Royal Family who are currently undertaking official public duties on behalf of The Queen."
Instead, the American-residing royals plan to keep out of the limelight, reports The Telegraph. Mirror sources point out that the royal couple does not intend to overshadow the larger events for Harry's grandmother who hopes this event will provide opportunities to "heal the rift" between the princely brothers, which reportedly dates back many years. Instead, the Daily Mail suggests the couple will participate on a more subtle scale at events such as the "national Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen at St Paul's Cathedral" but that watchers should, "not expect them at every event."
Yet even a lesser appearance at a royal celebration requires preparation and support, which is why the duchess is expected to assemble her "squad" prior to her fashionable public appearances.
Duchess squad unite!
The Duchess of Sussex's U.K. squad of supporters is based on an inner circle which includes college friend Lindsay Roth, hairdresser George Northwood, and make-up artist Daniel Martin (via the Daily Mail). Roth more than earns her place as a BFF and confidante with her avid support of Markle, as can be seen in a March 2021 Instagram post touting their 22 years of friendship. Describing Markle, Roth shares, "If you ever have the pleasure of meeting Meg – and I hope more of you do – you will see the altruistic, magnanimous friend who I am so lucky to have in my corner. "
Northwood is a hairdresser to the stars who Daily Mail reports was a frequent aid to Markle during her U.K. residence. Reunited across the ocean, the stylist recently shared his delight to be working together again, "And they're back Wonderful few days with Harry and Meghan" as he posted on Instagram from The Hague, Netherlands, site of the Invictus Games.
Joining Northwood to make the duchess look her best is Martin, who has been with Markle from "Suits" to the royal wedding. Thrilled to get the squad back together again, Martin shared on Instagram recently, "Hey girl Haaague! Back in Europe with our buddy @georgenorthwood and feeling soooo good!"
Fans will be thrilled to see these favorites join Markle's inner circle for her Jubilee appearances and it's clear these supporters have her back in true squad style.
