How Many Times Has Nick Newman Been Married On The Young And The Restless?
Nick Newman from "The Young and the Restless" has had quite a love life. The adult version of Nick, played by Joshua Morrow continuously since 1994 (via IMDb), debuted on the sudser as a teen when Morrow assumed the role. He was just a high school student back then (via Soaps In Depth), but that high school student fell for a girl who would change his life forever in myriad ways. Sharon Collins (Sharon Case) is arguably the love of Nick's life and the woman he keeps going back to when his other relationships inevitably fail.
Since Nick and Sharon's initial split, Nick has been with quite a few Genoa City women and often seems to want to marry them, but not all of those relationships turn into the real deal sealed with an "I do" and a kiss. In fact, Nick has been married a relatively low number of times compared to other soap opera characters who have also been around for decades.
Nick married Sharon right out of high school
When you find the right one, you don't want to wait. That's exactly what happened for Nick Newman and Sharon Collins. Yes, they had typical soap obstacles in their way like jealous exes and even murder accusations (via Soaps In Depth), but that didn't mean they weren't going to walk down the aisle as soon as they possibly could.
They may have married young, but Nick and Sharon seemed to have longevity. The couple came together to raise their son Noah and Sharon's daughter, Cassie, who Nick adopted as his own. However, everything fell apart when Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes) died as a teenager (via Soaps In Depth). They had been married for a decade when they lost their daughter, which is actually quite a long time in the soap opera world. Nick and Sharon have attempted to marry again twice since they first split in 2005, but neither wedding worked out.
Of course, as of this writing, Nick and Sharon are both single again, and Nick has been there for his ex in the aftermath of her latest husband, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), dying in a car crash (via Michael Fairman TV). Some fans are starting to speculate Rey's death could bring the former lovers back together again.
Nick married Phyllis Summers when she was pregnant
Nick Newman and Sharon Collins were in anguish after Cassie Newman died. That's when he grew close to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), the mother of Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei). If the name sounds familiar, that's because Daniel was the drunk boy Cassie was driving without a license the night she was killed. One thing led to another, and Phyllis and Nick slept together. When Phyllis ended up pregnant, she wasn't sure if the father was Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) or Nick. A paternity test proved inconclusive (via Soaps In Depth).
That didn't matter to Nick, as he married a very pregnant Phyllis in an impromptu, cowboy-themed wedding and then claimed her daughter, Summer, as his own. Although Nick and Phyllis didn't stay married for long, it turned out that Summer was his, and it also turned out he and Phyllis couldn't always stay away from one another. They gave it a go again several times, but never married a second time. Their most recent breakup happened towards the end of 2021 (via Soaps.com).
Nick also married Sage Warner when she was pregnant
Nick Newman's third and final wife (so far) was Sage Warner (Kelly Sullivan), a woman who came to town along with his presumed-dead brother, Adam Newman (then played by Justin Hartley). Adam was pretending to be Sage's late husband, Gabriel Bingham. Eventually, the truth about Adam came out. By then, Nick had struck up a friendship with Sage that turned into a romance. When Sage learned she was pregnant, Nick stepped up and married her not knowing she had also slept with Adam. It turned out that Sage knew the latter was the baby's father (via Soaps In Depth).
Sage went into premature labor and, weeks later, was told her baby Christian had died. Eventually, she learned that Sharon Collins and her new husband, Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton), ended up with her baby. They truly believed the child was their own. Just after Sage learned the truth and demanded her son back, she was killed in a car crash (via Soaps In Depth). Nick went on to raise Christian as a single dad even after he learned that Adam was his biological father.
