Gina Rodriguez's Husband Followed In Her Footsteps On The Bold And The Beautiful
Before Gina Rodriguez rose to fame as Jane on the hit TV series "Jane the Virgin," you might remember her from a short stint on "The Bold and the Beautiful" in 2011-12. Though she shined during her time on "BOTB," no one knew that just a few short years later she'd receive a Golden Globe award for Best Actress and become an icon for the Latinx community in Hollywood.
Rodriguez married fellow actor Joe LoCicero in May 2019, years after they met on the set of "Jane the Virgin." Just a few weeks later "BOTB" announced that LoCicero would be joining the cast in a recurring role as an old friend of Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), according to People. His character, Vincent "Vinny" Walker, appeared in over 50 episodes before he was killed off.
Let's take a look at the two very different roles this talented married couple played within the "BOTB" universe.
Gina Rodriguez played ambitious intern Beverly
Beverly first appeared on the scene as a friend of Dayzee Leigh (Kristolyn Lloyd), a young and inspiring L.A. native who was hired by Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) to run the Insomnia coffee house. After noticing Beverly's determination to make something of herself, Stephanie offered her an internship at Forrester Creations.
Beverly soon found herself in hot water when she was caught by Hope Logan (Kim Matula) taking photos of new designs for the Hope for the Future clothing line. Beverly was accused of selling the photos when the same designs showed up on the runway during a rival designer's fashion show. When Beverly's claims of innocence fell on deaf ears, she left town. Later, after discovering her own sister was the one behind the stolen looks, Stephanie tracked Beverly down to apologize and offer her her job back.
When Stephanie found Beverly, she discovered that the girl had grown up in the foster care system, which had contributed to her desire to succeed. Stephanie shared her own experience being raised by an abusive father and the two women bonded over their tumultuous childhoods. Beverly agreed to return to Forrester Creations and her character eventually faded from the spotlight (via Soap Central).

Joe LoCicero played bad boy Vinny
Joe LoCicero joined "BOTB" as Vincent "Vinny" Walker in 2019. Vinny was a small-time drug dealer who supplied his long-time friend Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) with illegal pain pills, along with his sister Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), who had developed a painkiller addiction after a motorcycle injury.
Tension brewed between the old friends when Vinny witnessed Thomas berating his young son for exposing his part in a baby-swap secret that led his wife Hope to leave him. Vinny had grown up with an abusive father and no patience for that behavior. However, Vinny stayed loyal to Thomas and even helped him break up the marriage between Thomas' father Ridge (Thorston Kaye) and his wife Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang).
When Steffy became pregnant, Vinny took it upon himself to alter the results of a paternity test to make it look like the father was her ex-husband Liam (Scott Clifton), and not her boyfriend Finn (Tanner Novlan). Vinny hoped this would destroy Liam and Hope's relationship and free her up to reconnect with Thomas.
Vinny was soon caught and arrested and, while out on bail, was hit by a car and killed. It was later revealed that Vinny purposely stepped into the car's path in an effort to frame the driver, Liam, for a hit and run.
