How Many Children Does Nikki Newman Have On The Young And The Restless?
Nikki Newman has been entertaining audiences on "The Young and the Restless" for more than four decades. While the character of Nikki Reed was briefly played by actress Erica Hope in 1978, Melody Thomas Scott took over in 1979 and she's been there ever since (via Soaps In Depth). Back then, Nikki was a femme fatale who was determined to marry up in the world, and she did exactly that when she wed both Greg Foster and Kevin Bancroft— both unions ended quickly.
To make ends meet, Nikki had no trouble taking a job as a stripper at a club called The Bayou. That's when she met the ultra-wealthy and very mysterious Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), according to Soap Central. Through lessons and lavish clothing, Victor trained Nikki to become what he considered a "classy lady." They created one of the most iconic couples in soap opera history, and are still together in 2022 — with quite a few melodramatic hiccups along the way. They also had children together, as well as with others.
Nikki and Victor share a daughter named Victoria
Before Nikki and Victor ever wed, she gave birth to Victoria but managed to pass her baby off as her second husband's for a little while. Although she was born in the early 1980s, Victoria was already a teenager by 1990 and played by teenage actress Heather Tom (via IMDb). As soon as a teenage Victoria returned from boarding school all grown up, she couldn't wait to land a man and become a business mogul, just like dear-old dad. So, she got a job at Newman Enterprises and promptly fell for young up-and-coming businessman Ryan McNeil (via Soaps In Depth).
Since then, Victoria's (now played by Amelia Heinle) luck with men has been challenging, with her just learning the man she married in 2021 had been lying to her about having cancer, among other important things (via Soaps). However, she did manage to give Victor and Nikki three grandchildren, Reed, Katie, and Johnny (via Soaps).
Nikki and Victor share a son named Nicholas
Continuing with the tradition of naming their children after themselves, Nikki gave birth to a son named Nicholas (Joshua Morrow), but she was on the outs with Victor at that point. He even divorced her when he falsely believed she offered information in a tell-all book about his life. Nick grew up with his parents breaking up to make up and was finally sent away to boarding school. Just like his sister, when he returned he was a full-fledged teenager, getting ready to graduate high school (via Soap Central).
Nick married Sharon Collins (Sharon Case) when they were both very young and gave Nikki and Victor grandchildren with the late Cassie (Camryn Grimes), plus Noah (Rory Gibson) and Faith (Reylynn Caster). Nick also has a daughter named Summer (Allison Lanier) with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and a son he is raising named Christian, whose biological father is his half-brother Adam Newman (via Soaps In Depth).
Nikki has a son without Victor named Dylan
Nikki Newman had the honor of being a longtime and iconic soap opera character. But as a teen she had a child, we never knew about. It turned out Nikki's teenage affair with current Genoa City Police Commissioner Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) resulted in a pregnancy and Nikki gave the baby boy up for adoption without telling Paul (via Soaps In Depth).
Years later, that baby arrived in town as grown man Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton). He reunited with his birth parents and became close to them, while also falling for Sharon, who was divorced from Victor and Nikki's son, Nick, by then. Nikki got to have Sharon as a daughter-in-law once again when Sharon and Dylan married. After learning the baby he thought was his and Sharon's was really Nick's (or actually Adam's, since this baby was the aforementioned Christian), police officer Dylan left town via the witness protection program and has not been heard from since (via Soaps In-Depth).
Nikki has two stepchildren, Adam and Abby
In between marriages to Nikki, Victor was also married to Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Hope Adams (Signy Coleman). However, Ashley had his child years after they were wed when she stole some of his sperm from a sperm bank. That child is Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), who is now married to Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) and just had a child via donor sperm named Dominic (via Soaps In Depth).
Hope gave birth to Victor Jr. when she had already decided to call it quits with Victor. She raised her son on her farm back in Kansas and he thought Victor was just his mother's nice friend who would sometimes visit. On her deathbed, Hope confessed the truth. That's when Victor Jr. changed his name to Adam, moved to Genoa City with a chip on his shoulders, and tried to join the Newman family. More than a decade later, Adam (Mark Grossman) is often still treated as an outcast (via Soaps.com).
