Here's How Many Roles Eileen Davidson Has Played On Days Of Our Lives
Eileen Davidson has been a staple on television for decades, and soap opera fans have come to know her well. In 1982, Davidson landed the role of Ashley Abbot on "The Young and the Restless" (via Soaps). She played the character until 1989 when she opted to leave the sudser for a role in the series "Broken Badges." Once that role was complete, the daytime star headed over to "Santa Barbara" in 1991 where she portrayed the role of Kelly Capwell until the show ended in 1993.
Over her career, Davidson has also appeared in films such as "Easy Wheels," "Eternity," "Hell and Mr. Fudge," "Middleton Christmas," and "7 Days to Vegas” (via TV Guide). She also went on to star in the hit reality series "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" and, while she hasn't been seen on the show since 2020, she hasn't ruled out returning to the show one day.
Davidson also originated the role of Kristen Blake on "Days of Our Lives" and has become a fixture in Salem, returning to the show again and again for stints as the character, per Soap Central. However, Davidson's role on "DOOL" has been very unique as she's also played many other roles on the soap opera.
Eileen Davidson originally played Kristen DiMera and later Susan Banks on DOOL
"Days of Our Lives" fans know that Eileen Davidson was first introduced into Salem in 1993 as the character of Kristen Blake. Kristen later went on to become the adopted daughter of Stefano DiMera and consider his other children as her siblings. During her early years, Kristen fell in love with John Black (Drake Hogestyn). However, when she lost their baby, Kristen feared that John would leave her and reunite with his former love, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), per Soap Central. It was then that Stefano brought Susan Banks to Salem.
Susan was a pregnant woman who looked shockingly similar to Kristen. Of course, Davidson also portrayed that character as well. Stefano then helped Susan impersonate Kristen by giving her a blond wig and some false teeth and convinced her to give her baby to John and Kristen. However, Susan later strayed from the plan when she imprisoned Kristen and took her place at the DiMera mansion, per Soaps in Depth. She even planned a wedding to John. Of course, the truth came out and John left behind both Susan and Kristen.
Kristen stayed in Salem and has been stirring up trouble off and on with both Davidson and actress Stacy Haiduk in the role. Susan has also been part of many storylines over the years, including her connection to Salem as the mother of EJ DiMera. However, Davidson didn't stop at playing Kristen and Susan.
Eileen Davidson has played a total of five roles on the NBC soap
While Eileen Davidson is best known for her roles as Kristen DiMera and Susan Banks on "Days of Our Lives," the actress also impressed and entertained viewers when she portrayed three additional characters on the show. After it was revealed that Susan was a quadruplet, her siblings soon showed up in Salem. In addition to her role as Susan, Davidson also tackled the roles of Susan's three siblings, a nun named Sister Mary Moira Banks, brother Thomas Banks, and sister Penelope Kent (via Soaps in Depth).
According to Soaps, the soap vet portrayed all the roles of Kristen, Susan, Moira, Thomas, and Penelope at the same time, making her the first actress on daytime television to ever play five different roles simultaneously. As for the fate of Susan's siblings, Moira has been seen on a few occasions, while Penelope is deceased. Susan enlisted Thomas to help her get her son back, but the character hasn't been seen in years (via Soap Central).
"DOOL" fans have enjoyed watching Davidson, and the characters that she originated over the years, and continue to keep up with Kristen and Susan to this day, despite casting changes.
