The Bold And The Beautiful: How Many Children Does Sheila Carter Have?
Since the start of Sheila Carter's (Kimberlin Brown) reign of terror on CBS soaps back in 1990, the unhinged villainess has been obsessed with the idea of having a baby. In fact, she just took a baby for herself while appearing on "The Young and the Restless" (via Soaps in Depth). At the time, Sheila was allegedly a sweet nurse working with Lauren Fenmore's (Tracey E. Bregman) husband Dr. Scott Grainger (Peter Barton). However, Sheila wanted him. So she got him into bed one night and wound up pregnant.
Scott left Lauren to do the right thing by Sheila, but she didn't bother telling him when she lost the baby. Lauren also happened to be pregnant, so she stole Lauren's baby and replaced him with a baby she bought on the black market so that she could raise Scott's child. The truth came out after the baby Lauren thought was hers died as an infant. Lauren went after her, but in the end Sheila was presumed dead in a fire.
Fans of "The Young and the Restless" thought they had seen the last of Sheila, according to Soaps In Depth. Not so fast...
Sheila Carter took her baby obsession to Los Angeles where she became a mom
Once she settled in Los Angeles, Sheila Carter became a nanny for Rick Forrester, Brooke Logan Forrester's (Katherine Kelly Lang) son with Eric Forrester (John McCook), according to Soaps in Depth. Eventually, the Forresters learned that Sheila was psychotic. After marrying Eric and doing more unsavory things, Dr. James Warwick (Ian Buchanan) sent her to a mental hospital. By the time Sheila was released, she was both in love and obsessed with James, and she ended up pregnant with his child. She later gave birth to Mary.
Mary is Sheila's first daughter and should not be confused with Erica Lovejoy (Courtney Draper)... because they are one in the same. After Sheila committed more heinous acts, she took off with Mary and returned years later when her daughter was a teenager going by the name Erica. That was because her mother told her it was her name (via Soap Central). After Sheila manipulated her into doing a variety of evil acts, Erica learned the truth about her mother and her own name. She was last seen in 2002, but Sheila mentioned that they had reconnected in 2017.
These are Sheila Carter's other supposed children
As Sheila Carter flitted on and off "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "The Young and the Restless" for years, fans learned of more children who were allegedly hers. For instance, there was Diana Carter, who Sheila claimed belonged to Massimo Marone (Joseph Mascolo). However, it was never proven that Diana belonged to either one of them. The character has not been seen on the show since 2003 (via Soap Central).
In 2009, two teens named Daisy (Yvonne Zima) and Ryder Callahan (Wilson Bethel) turned up in Genoa City on "The Young and the Restless." They were eventually revealed to be Daisy and Ryder Fisher, Sheila's children as a result of an affair with Tom Fisher (Roscoe Born). Tom was Gloria Abbott's (Judith Chapman) abusive ex-husband and the father of Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart), according to Soaps.com. It was never confirmed whether Daisy and Ryder actually belonged to Sheila. After they caused trouble in GC for a while, the teens were written off the canvas.
They didn't make it onto a list of characters Sheila's actor Kimberlin Brown would want to work with again. However, you never know what to expect.
Sheila Carter had a new son in 2021 and killed him in 2022
When Sheila Carter was last on "The Bold and the Beautiful" in 2017, she seemed reformed and happy to work as a waitress at Il Giordano. She surprised everyone years later when she turned up at Steffy Forrester's (Jacqueline Wood) wedding to John 'Finn' Finnegan (Tanner Novlan) and announced that she was the groom's birth mother (via Soaps.com). Steffy could never forgive Sheila for shooting her mother years ago and told her to stay out of her family's life. She also told Finn to choose between her and Sheila.
Eventually, we learned that Sheila had an affair with Jack Finnegan (Ted King) that resulted in a son. She gave the baby to Jack, who presented him to his wife, Li (Naomi Matsuda), to adopt. Finn and Li were shocked to hear the whole truth, and Steffy eventually relented and allowed Sheila into their lives (via Soaps In Depth).
But Sheila was never meant to be a stable character. When Steffy confronted her about more dirty deeds at Il Giordano, they took it out back where Sheila pulled out a gun, according to Michael Fairman TV. Finn then appeared out of nowhere looking for his wife and took the bullet. So there would be no witnesses to her crime, Sheila shot Steffy, too. Finn died, but Steffy lived. Meanwhile, Sheila, an unpopular character to some fans, has to live with the fact that she killed her own son.
