What Happened To Bridget Forrester On The Bold And The Beautiful?

Fans get excited every time Ashley Jones pops up as Bridget Forrester on "The Bold and the Beautiful." After all, she is a legacy character that belongs to the show's two most prominent families — the Forresters and the Logans — and we watched her grow up on screen with a little bit of SORAS (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome) thrown in for good measure.

Although she hasn't had a storyline of her own in years, Bridget is now the doctor people turn to in life or death moments. She was there when Steffy Forrester was shot and rushed into the ER, and she will likely disappear again when Steffy recovers or is shipped off to a private facility while actress Jacqueline Wood goes on maternity leave. Wood is pregnant with her third child and will give birth this spring (via People).

It's been a while since Bridget was at the center of a plot. However, she was once one of the 35-year-old soap opera's most popular leading young heroines.

Bridget Forrester began life with a paternity puzzle

When Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) learned she was pregnant with Bridget Forrester, she wasn't sure if her estranged husband Eric Forrester (John McCook) was her baby's father. The dad might have been Eric's son, Ridge (then played by Ronn Moss), according to Soaps in Depth. But Brooke soon got an answer to the question — it was just the wrong one.

Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) switched the paternity test results to make it look as if Ridge was the father so she could have Eric for herself. Brooke was thrilled to give birth to a little girl she named Bridget. The name was a combination of Brooke and Ridge, her alleged parents. Eventually, the truth came out, and Bridget (played as a child by Agnes Bruckner) learned that Eric was her dad and not her granddad.

By the time Bridget was a teenager, she gave her mother quite a hard time with her rebellious ways. The teen loved helping out in her brother's love life while she schemed to make sure her brother, Rick Forrester (Jacob Young), didn't stay married to Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz) for long (via Soaps In Depth).

Bridget Forrester grew up and married young

Bridget Forrester disappeared for a while. When she returned to "The Bold and the Beautiful" in 2000, she did so as a young adult played by Jennifer Finnegan. The character impulsively married Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan), a man slightly older than her who ended up falling for her mother and sleeping with her (via Soap Hub). Needless to say, Bridget was horrified when she learned that her mother slept with her husband, and she was even more hurt when she was forced to deliver the baby that resulted from that affair when Brooke and Bridget were stuck at a remote cabin. Yes, Bridget helped bring Hope Logan into the world (via Soaps.com).

After a series of failed romances, Bridget thought she finally found the one in Nick Marone (Jack Wagner), someone who had already dated her mother. Bridget became pregnant from her relationship with Nick, and they planned to marry. Nick and Bridget broke up when the baby was stillborn, and he went right back to Brooke. For a while, Bridget and Brooke seemed to share Nick, and even Katie Logan (Heather Tom) snared him for a bit. Bridget and Nick eventually wed. Sadly, their union didn't last when the surrogate who was carrying their baby miscarried, according to Soaps In Depth.

Bridget Forrester became a doctor and finally had a baby

Bridget Forrester (now played by Ashley Jones) finally got over Nick Marone and started a surprise romance with Owen Knight (Brandon Beemer). She happily became pregnant and gave birth to a little boy named Logan. When things didn't work out with Owen, Bridget moved to New York with her son. She visited from time to time when there were family celebrations or sad occasions when her family needed her for support (via Soaps In Depth).

In the spring of 2022, Bridget called her mother with a surprise at the end of one episode. She was apparently back in Los Angeles working as a doctor and couldn't wait to stop by and see her mother. Actress Ashley Jones even posted a short video to Instagram in her white coat on the set of "The Bold and the Beautiful." While has yet to mention her son Logan it's quite possible that — like his mother before him — he will be rapidly aged soon and turn into a hellion of a teen. We'll have to wait and see.
