The Young And The Restless Star Mishael Morgan Reveals Devastating Family News
On "The Young and the Restless," actress Mishael Morgan was so popular that, when the show killed off her original character, Hilary Curtis, fans were so outraged that the soap had to bring Morgan back the next year as Hilary's long-lost twin, Amanda Sinclair.
Morgan had already given the show five years of her life, giving birth to her first child while playing Hilary, a role she exited in 2018 only to create Amanda in 2019. During the year Morgan wasn't on the CBS soap, she spent time with her beloved family, which includes husband Navid Ali and two small children, son Niam and daughter Naliyah (via ABTC).
The Trinidadian-born actress has now revealed that tragedy has hit her family in an unimaginable way. Her husband has experienced a devastating loss, and Morgan is asking for help after an unexpected fire claimed the lives of five family members at once.
Mishael Morgan's family loss is everyone's worst nightmare
On the evening of March 28, 2022, Mishael Morgan took to Twitter to let her fans know about the loss her family suffered earlier that day.
"On Monday morning my husband's only brother, perished with his wife & 3 kids in a tragic house fire," Morgan wrote. "I am still in absolute disbelief. My sister-in-law set up a fund, please pray for my family & donate if you are able."
Morgan then linked to a GoFundMe page to collect donations and help pay for funeral costs. On that page, Morgan's sister-in-law, Bismah Ali, gives a bit more detail about the family members who lost their lives in the house fire in Ontario, Canada (via People).
"Nazir and Raven were two of the most amazing young people, who dedicated their lives to their children," Bismah wrote. "They were loving, selfless, and empathetic. Nazir was a loving son and caring brother to his 5 siblings and Raven was a loving daughter caring sister to her 4 siblings. Their absence will forever be felt in our lives."
As of this writing, the page has raised nearly 60,000 Canadian dollars.
