How Deidre Hall Has Changed Since Her Debut On Days Of Our Lives
Deidre Hall is one of the most famous soap opera stars of all time. The actress, who first debuted as the character of Dr. Marlena Evans on "Days of Our Lives" in 1976, quickly became a favorite among fans of the NBC sudser, per Soap Central. Marlena, a psychiatrist in the fictional town of Salem, has seemingly been through it all over the years. She's been possessed by a demon, kidnapped multiple times, suffered from amnesia, watched her twin sister die, been brainwashed, and so much more (via Its Rosey).
Over the years, Marlena's life has been dramatic, but she's evolved into one of Salem's most cherished citizens. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and doctor, it seems that everyone loves and trusts the character, which is something that hasn't really changed in her more than four decades on the show.
Meanwhile, while Hall has made the decision to continue on with "DOOL," her personal life has changed quite a bit over the years.
Deidre Hall's dedication to DOOL remains the same
Deidre Hall's name is now synonymous with "Days of Our Lives" and the character of Marlena Evans. However, in her real-life she's a mother and sister. Since debuting on "DOOL" in the 1970s, Hall's love life has been a bit of a roller coaster. She was twice married when she debuted on the soap, and following her second divorce, she married Michael Dubelko in 1987. The two later called it quits and Hall eventually tied the knot with Steve Sohmer in 1991 (via Bing).
The actress and her husband then decided to expand her family when she and Sohmer welcomed their son, David, via surrogate in 1992. A few years later in 1995, their second child, Tully, was also born via surrogacy.
Although she's known as a soap actress, Hall has also branched out into other projects and appeared on TV shows like "Great News" and "Drop Dead Diva." She's also landed roles in movies such as "Harmony," "My Christmas Dream," and "Woman on the Ledge" (via IMDb).
While Hall has remained a staple on "Days of Our Lives" all these years, her personal life has changed in so many ways, and fans are happy to continue to be rooting for her.
