The 'Is It Me? Am I The Drama?' TikTok Audio, Explained

Many iconic television moments can often fall to the wayside thanks to the sheer number of shows out there, but meme culture has a beautiful way of preserving them — especially on TikTok. The platform is most known for taking obscure verses from certain songs and propelling them into the spotlight, and the same goes for certain TV moments.

While many users opt to use iconic moments from Wendy Williams and Nicki Minaj, or even lines from classic cartoons like "Dexter's Laboratory" (via YouTube), there's one hilarious soundbite making the rounds on TikTok at the moment that can actually be traced back to a certain alum of "RuPaul's Drag Race."

Drag queen Scarlet Envy wowed fans of the reality show back on Season 11, much to the point that, when she sashayed away from the show, fans wanted to see her back ASAP on "All Stars" (via Gay Times). This ended up happening in "All Stars" Season 6. It's ultimately this celeb drag queen that you have to thank for the "Is it me? Am I the drama?" audio that has become a familiar sound across TikTok — and the entire internet now.

The quote originates from a promotional video for "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars"

"RuPaul's Drag Race" sees many stunning transformations thanks to its "All Stars" format, which invites eliminated contestants back for a second chance at becoming America's Next Drag Superstar. Such is the case for Scarlet Envy, which led to her "Is it me? Am I the drama?" quote. However, this quote doesn't originate from any episode of "RuPaul's Drag Race." As The Tab notes, Envy's iconic line actually stems from a promotional video for "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 6" made by production company World of Wonder, which is the official producer and streamer of the "Drag Race" franchise.

In the promo, the actual quote is only a small portion of an interview Envy gives about what she expects from "All Stars 6" (via YouTube). And when asked about the drama that will inevitably unfold, she says the line we all know and love: "Is it me? Am I the drama? I don't think I'm the drama... maybe I am. Am I the villain? I don't think I'm the villain," she says, before adding that Jiggly Caliente, another Season 6 contestant, is most likely the villain.

While it's unclear exactly who decided to use that snippet of Envy on TikTok, whoever did is an absolute genius.
