Chris Noth Gets Flooded With Praise Following His Return To Social Media
In December 2021, two women came forward with allegations of sexual assault against "Sex and the City" actor Chris Noth. "Law & Order" star Zoe Lister-Jones, and a journalist named Lily, who used a pseudonym to maintain her privacy, told The Hollywood Reporter that they were sexually assaulted by Noth. A third woman, a 30-year-old tech executive, later came forward with her own allegations of sexual assault against Noth, per Daily Beast. It seems as though the women were inspired to come forward with their allegations after Noth made an appearance as Big in the first episode of the "Sex and the City" reboot, "And Just Like That," earlier that same month.
"The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false," Noth said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, in which he denied the allegations. "These stories could've been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It's difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don't know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women."
In the following weeks, Noth kept a very low profile on social media, seemingly ditching it altogether. Then, in February 2022, Noth suddenly returned to Instagram to the delight of some fans.
Chris Noth received a warm welcome back from Instagram fans
Chris Noth shared a post on his Instagram page for the first time since the sexual assault allegations were made against him in December 2021. In the post, Orion, Noth's first son with his wife, Tara Wilson, was playing in a basketball game. "SWISH. It's a thrill to watch his love for basketball blossom," Noth captioned the photo.
A couple of days later, Noth posted on his Instagram account again with a tribute to his second son, Keats, in honor of his second birthday. "Feb 18- Happy Birthday little Keats- you have brought light and blue skies into our lives!" Noth captioned a photo of the pair's shadows embracing.
Upon his return to social media, Noth was flooded with support from many of his fans. "You're awesome Chris! So happy that you kept your integrity and we're not a part of the demented delusional version of what was once a great show. You're acting skills have always inspired and shown innovation," one user commented. "Sending you all the best wishes – Knowing you have been going through so much turmoil – I never believed a word – I have been a huge fan, For quite sometime xx," another user wrote.
