The Pretty Little Liars Star Who Once Starred On Days Of Our Lives
Fans know Ashley Benson from her appearances in movies such as "13 Going On 30," "Ratter," "Pixels," and "Spring Breakers," as well as films like "Bring It On: In It to Win It" and "Christmas Cupid." She's also been seen on multiple television shows like "Zoey 101" and "Family Guy" (via IMDb). However, she is best remembered for her role in Freeform's hit series "Pretty Little Liars." The show was adapted from a book series by Sara Shepard, which told the story of five high school friends and how secrets tore their lives apart (via Rotten Tomatoes). On the show, Benson portrayed the character Hanna Marin alongside her costars Lucy Hale (Aria Montgomery), Shay Mitchell (Emily Fields), Troian Bellisario (Spencer Hastings), and Sasha Pieterse (Alison DiLaurentis).
"Pretty Little Liars" premiered in 2010, and immediately began to intrigue fans. The series ran for seven seasons before ending in June 2017, per Entertainment Weekly. However, before Benson hit it big as Hanna on the show, she got her first big break playing a fan-favorite character on the NBC soap opera "Days of Our Lives."
Ashley Benson previously starred as Abigail Deveraux on "Days of Our Lives"
According to People, Ashley Benson is just one of many stars who got their start on "Days of Our Lives." Other celebrities such as Jensen Ackles, Mila Kunis, Pamela Anderson, Lisa Rinna, and more also previously held roles on the soap opera. Benson was a young actress when she was first cast in the role of Abigail Deveraux, a character who is the daughter of super couple Jack Deveraux and Jennifer Horton (via Soap Central). The actress starred as a teenage version of the character from 2004 until 2007, when she eventually exited the role. The character was later aged a bit and taken over by actress Kate Mansi, who later left the soap, leaving Abigail to be recast yet again, with actress Marci Miller taking over.
However, it seems that Benson may have some fond memories of her time on "Days of Our Lives," as she once admitted that she even had her first real kiss on the set of the sudser (via PopSugar). During an appearance on "The Conan O'Brien Show," Benson opened up about the kiss, admitting that it was a bit "strange," and that she was "really nervous" for the big moment.
Although Benson no longer appears on soaps, she helped transition her character from childhood to adulthood, and Abigail is still a fan-favorite on "Days of Our Lives" today, even if Benson no longer plays her.
