Why Fans Think Louis Tomlinson May Be Releasing A Documentary This Year
Being part of one of the biggest boybands the world has ever known made Louis Tomlinson a very rich man but, post-One Direction, he's taken a step back from the spotlight. At least, compared to former bandmates including Harry Styles and Niall Horan, Tomlinson hasn't established himself as much as a solo star in his own right. However, it was likely by design.
As Cheat Sheet notes, during a 2019 appearance on "The Zach Sang Show," Tomlinson acknowledged he initially planned to be a full time songwriter when the group went on hiatus. "Definitely, that's what I thought I was gonna do," he said. "I think a lot of people must go through this, like other artists in different situations."
Thankfully, once Tomlinson actually started writing, he realized his own voice would suit much of the material. "I was obviously demo-ing them with me vocals. I was like, 'I might as well'," he recalled. The One Direction alum subsequently released solo album "Walls" in 2020. Although music is still clearly his focus, there's reason to believe Tomlinson may be branching out into documentary filmmaking very shortly.
Louis Tomlinson teased fans about something exciting being in the works
According to Capital FM, fans of Louis Tomlinson were convinced he was set to release a documentary film in 2021. There were even fan-made trailers floating around at one stage. Rumors began circulating after a commenter asked the former One Direction star directly, "Have you already thought about making a documentary??" Tomlinson responded simply, "Already on it love."
Per Screen Rant, the phrase "Louis Tomlinson documentary" immediately trended on Twitter, confirming interest was high. Another tweet then resurfaced, which was purported to be the title of the film: "Faith in the Future." Likewise, just a few minutes prior, Tomlinson had reminisced about the 11-year anniversary of his original "X Factor" audition, and how much his life had changed in the years since.
Tomlinson quipped at the time, "We're only just getting started!," suggesting there were big things on the horizon. Although the singer-songwriter hasn't revealed anything further since, there's speculation Tomlinson could be preparing to drop the flick at some stage in 2022. His birthday is December 24, so that could be a possible release date.
We'll just have to wait and see but, in the meantime, Tomlinson is planning to tour the United Kingdom this year and is also working on new music at the same time, too. Who knows, there could even be more Guinness World Records in his future.
