Kim Kardashian Finally Puts Her Foot Down Following Kanye's Online Attacks
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian may not see eye-to-eye when it comes to co-parenting their four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. The couple, who filed for divorce in early 2021, has yet to finalize the end of their marriage. However, that hasn't stopped West from speaking out against Kardashian, per People.
This week, West took issue with the fact that his oldest child, North, was active on the social media app TikTok. The rapper revealed that he wasn't pleased about it, and asked fans for help to navigate the situation. "SINCE THIS IS MY FIRST DIVORCE I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO ABOUT MY DAUGHTER BEING PUT ON TIK TOK AGAINST MY WILL ?" West said, adding a screenshot from North's TikTok video. West previously mentioned the issue during an interview with "Hollywood Unlock" in January.
Kardashian and her daughter started the TikTok account back in November 2021, and the reality star has revealed that North has been given a strict set of rules for posting to the app. In the bio of the profile, it states that the account is "managed by an adult." Since creating the account, North has posted adorable videos such as showing off her new braces.
Now, in light of West's latest public statements about the situation, Kardashian has decided to speak out.
Kim Kardashian slammed Kanye in a public statement
TMZ reported that Kim Kardashian quickly responded to Kanye West's online criticism of North's TikTok account, releasing a lengthy statement via her own social media page. "Kanye's constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create. As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her so much happiness," Kardashian wrote.
"Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye's obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all," the KKW Beauty founder continued. "From the beginning, I have wanted nothing but a healthy and supportive co-parenting relationship because it is what is best for our children and it saddens me that Kanye continues to make it impossible every step of the way," she added.
Kardashian went on to reveal that she wished to keep her family matters behind closed doors, but that West hasn't been responding to his lawyers. "I wish to handle all matters regarding our children privately and hopefully he can finally respond to the third attorney he has had in the last year to resolve any issues amicably," she concluded her statement.
