Why Special Agent Knight May Be Returning For A New NCIS Crossover Event

Viewers may not know that the wildly popular CBS show "NCIS" actually started as a spin-off for another legal drama called "JAG" (or Judge Advocate General), per Cinema Blend. Since the series debuted, the "NCIS" franchise has expanded to three more shows, including the recent "NCIS: Hawaii," as Us Weekly reports. Set in Oahu, Hawaii, the show debuted in fall of 2021 and stars Vanessa Lachey as Jane Tennant. "Honored is an understatement," the actor wrote on Instagram in April 2021, when news broke that she had been cast in the lead role. "To join the NCIS franchise as the first female lead, and to do it on the beautiful islands of Hawaii ... I still can't believe it!"

Within the new, expanding NCIS world that they have to play in, the show's writers and producers have upped the drama with crossover episodes, such as when Jethro Gibbs and Tim McGee headed to Los Angeles to uncover a terrorist cell, or when Anthony DiNozzo went to New Orleans to help with a bubonic plague outbreak. And now, fans of the show are in luck, since another crossover event is reportedly in the works. Wilmer Valderrama (Special Agent Torres) and Katrina Law (Special Agent Knight) of "NCIS" are both headed to Hawaii!

Katrina Law has solved TV crimes in Hawaii before

In January 2022, actor Wilmer Valderrama posted a video on Instagram to reveal that he was headed to Hawaii to begin filming the "NCIS" crossover event, which is slated for March 28. His co-star Katrina Law also made an appearance in the video to tell fans that she would be joining Valderrama in Hawaii. The video then flashed to several "NCIS: Hawaii" stars, who were excited to welcome Law and Valderrama onboard. As Law filmed part of the video in a snowy setting, it seems that Hawaii will be a nice change. "It's going to be good being back on the island solving crimes," the actor added, alluding to the time she had previously spent in Hawaii. Per Deadline, Law was a series regular in Season 10 of "Hawaii Five-0." In celebration of her gig on "NCIS: Hawaii," she posted a series of photos on Instagram that showed her at the beach and in the water. "So good for the soul," she wrote.

Per IMDb, Law joined the cast of "NCIS" towards the end of Season 18. By Season 19, she became a series regular and assumed the role of Special Agent Knight. As Deadline notes, Knight specializes in hostage negotiations and works as an agent for REACT (or the Regional Enforcement Action Capabilities Training Team).
