The Bold And The Beautiful Episodes That Feel Like Deja Vu

When a soap has been on the air for more than three decades, there are bound to be storylines or at least types of storylines that get repeated. On "The Bold and the Beautiful," that happens more often than not. Sometimes, it's near identical storylines with the same characters that the audience sees over and over again until they feel a strong sense of deja vu.

For example, when the show first premiered, it was common to see Brooke Logan bedding nearly every Forrester, including the family patriarch, Eric (via Soaps In Depth). Also, the rivalry between Forrester Creations and Spectra Fashions was legendary, with Sally Spectra constantly barging into fashion shows to try to upstage her more high class designing foes. Let's not forget, in the 21st century, love triangles that began in the 1990s are still going strong, with a new one thrown in for good measure. Fans can also find one little boy who knows all frequently blowing the water off the best-kept secrets in town.

Ridge is caught between Taylor and Brooke

When "The Bold and the Beautiful" first premiered in 1987, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) was a college student working for a catering business to make ends meet. That's when she met handsome playboy Ridge Forrester (then played by Ronn Moss) and the two were instantly attracted to one another. However, he was dating sweet Caroline Spencer (Joanna Johnson) and eventually married her. After Caroline died, Ridge began a romance with psychiatrist Taylor Hayes (then played by Hunter Tylo), but he could never get Brooke out of his mind.

When Taylor was presumed dead, Ridge and Brooke finally wed. However, Taylor was then found to be alive, and for years, Ridge bounced back and forth between the two women, having children with both of them. In 2022, history is repeating itself again. Ridge (now played by Thorsten Kaye) is married to Brooke, and Taylor (now played by Krista Allen) is back in town still pining for her ex, according to Soaps.com. Meanwhile, Brooke got drunk on New Year's Eve and kissed her own ex, Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan), which is something she tends to do. In 2020, she kissed another ex, Bill Spencer (Don Diamont), while married to Ridge, giving episodes two years later that deja vu feeling all over again.

Liam is caught between Hope and Steffy

While Ridge was married to Taylor, she had three of his children, twins Phoebe and Steffy, and son Thomas. Phoebe was tragically killed in a car accident, but Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) are now adults with children of their own. Brooke also had children while Ridge was married to Taylor, and Hope (Annika Noelle), her daughter with Deacon Sharpe, has been in a rivalry with Steffy over one man for years, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton).

Liam has had a hard time deciding between the two women and has been married to both more than once, with each one of them giving birth to his daughters, Kelly and Beth. Whenever either woman would upset him, he'd run to the other. In 2017, Liam left Steffy when she slept with his father, Bill, and immediately slept with Hope, who became pregnant. In 2021, when Liam thought Hope was having an affair with Thomas, he ran to Steffy's house for a one-night stand and Steffy became pregnant again. At least this time the baby wasn't Liam's but that didn't stop him from telling Steffy all his problems.

Douglas Forrester cannot tell a lie

Somehow, little Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri), Thomas Forrester's son with Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey), stumbles upon all the sordid secrets that his family members try to keep.

In 2019, he overheard a conversation that Hope and Liam's baby, Beth, who was presumed stillborn, was really alive and had been inadvertently adopted by Steffy, who named her Phoebe after her late twin. Thomas, who wanted Hope for himself, feared if she learned her baby was alive, she'd go back to Liam, so he ordered his son to keep the secret about Beth to himself. Of course, he couldn't and told Liam that "Beth is Phoebe and Phoebe is Beth" and Liam believed him.

Flash forward to 2022 and Hope is Douglas' adoptive mother and Douglas lives in a cabin with her, Liam, and Beth when he is not with his father. He also seems to have free reign of the entire Logan estate, because on New Year's Eve at midnight, he took a walk over to the main house and spotted Brooke kissing Deacon (who was wearing a Santa hat) through the window and told anyone who would listen — including Ridge — that he saw Grandma kissing Santa Claus. That cleared the way for more deja vu as Taylor stood by to pick up the pieces of his broken heart.
