The Heartbreaking Death Of Quentin Tarantino's Godson Hudson Madsen
The son of Michael Madsen and godson of director Quentin Tarantino has died. According to The Sun, 26-year-old Hudson Madsen died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. "I can confirm Hudson Lee Madsen, 26, died by a gunshot wound to the head in a suspected suicide on the island of Oahu," a spokeswoman for the Department of the Medical Examiner in Honolulu told the Sun on Monday.
Hudson's father, Michael Madsen, worked on multiple high-profile projects with Tarantino, including "Reservoir Dogs" and "Kill Bill," according to Page Six. Hudson's mother is "The Price of Air" actress DeAnna Madsen. "We are heartbroken and overwhelmed with grief and pain at the loss of Hudson," the Madsen family said in a statement to Metro. "His memory and light will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. We ask for privacy and respect during this difficult time. Thank you."
At the time of his death, Hudson was living in Wahiawa, Hawaii. On his Facebook page, Hudson has shared photos of time spent with his wife, Carlie Madsen, and from his United States Army deployment in Afghanistan.

Hudson shared a sweet relationship with his wife
In 2018, Hudson Madsen married Carlie Madsen. Right after they were married, Hudson was deployed with the Army, according to Daily Mail. The couple's official wedding took place in Colorado, shortly before the couple moved to Hawai'i. Then, in 2020, Hudson was deployed again, though it appears as though he spent much of his time at home and with Carlie in the last year of his life.
Just last week, Carlie posted a sweet message to Hudson after undergoing surgery to remove a tumor from one of her breasts. "I just want to give a shout-out to my amazing husband!" Carlie wrote in an Instagram post last week. "Yesterday I had surgery to remove a tumor from one of my breasts and he was and has been so patient throughout this whole process! We were at the hospital for about 7 hours yesterday and while I was in surgery he went to Target and got me flowers, comfy pajamas, my favorite candy and a card! He's also been amazing in helping with my recovery and I'm just so thankful!"
In March 2021, Carlie revealed in an Instagram post that the couple would be pursuing fertility treatment after discovering that they could not have children on their own. "In the last 2 months Hudson and I found out that we can't have kids naturally and we have to do IVF," Carlie said in an Instagram post. "We also were told that it will probably take 2 or more times of IVF treatment for me to get pregnant."
