Jeffrey Epstein's Lawyer Reportedly Asked Donald Trump To Do This For Ghislaine Maxwell

Late last month, former socialite Ghislaine Maxwell was found guilty of five out of six charges for her actions that helped her former partner Jeffrey Epstein sexually abuse minor girls. For these abuses, which took place between 1994 and 2004, Maxwell was tried and convicted of sex trafficking of a minor, transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, and three other charges related to conspiracy, according to CNN. Throughout the trial, which took place over the course of six days, prosecutors painted a picture of Maxwell's involvement in Epstein's abuse of minors, which essentially included Maxwell establishing relationships with the minors in order to lure them to properties in New York, Florida, New Mexico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. According to Maxwell, she was simply a scapegoat for her former partner's horrific actions.

Prior to Maxwell's trial, former President Donald Trump became embroiled in Epstein's multiple controversies after it was revealed that he was among many other celebrities and world leaders who traveled on Epstein's private jets. Despite this revelation, Trump has yet to be charged with any sexual misconduct related to Epstein and Maxwell, per the Miami Herald. During Maxwell's trial last month, an anonymous victim claimed that she met Trump while on one of these rides on Epstein's private jet, though did not accuse him of any wrongdoing, according to CNN.

Epstein's lawyer asked Trump to pardon Maxwell

While Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell's close relationship with high-profile celebrities like former President Donald Trump was essentially public knowledge at the time of Maxwell's trial in December, an anonymous sexual assault victim known as Kate confirmed that she saw these relationships play out behind closed doors. While being trafficked by Maxwell and Epstein, Kate claims that she encountered the couple's many famous friends, including Trump and Prince Andrew, per Forbes.

A recent report published by The Times of London accuses Eptein's lawyer, Alan Dershowitz, of using the couple's friendship with Trump to ask the former president if he would pardon Maxwell during his last days in the White House. Though it is said that Trump actually pondered the idea of using his presidential authority to pardon Maxwell, this official pardon for Maxwell from Trump was never handed down. Maxwell's brother, Ian, confirmed that he had discussed pardoning his sister with Dershowitz. "There was one phone call between Professor Dershowitz and a family member during which the generic issue of pardons was touched on," Ian told The Times of London.

Epstein's lawyer, Dershowitz also has a special connection with Trump, as he represented the former president during his impeachment trial. According to the New York Post, Dershowitz has also been accused of sexually assaulting Virginia Roberts Giuffre, the same woman who accused Prince Andrew of sexual assault. The lawyer has continuously denied these allegations.
