Bob Saget's Family Opens Up About His Heartbreaking Death
Fans were shocked when the news broke of Bob Saget's death on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022. The actor had been dubbed "America's Dad" after portraying the iconic role of widower Danny Tanner on the hit sitcom "Full House" back in the '80s and '90s. He later reprised the role for Netflix's sequel series "Fuller House." Saget's death was confirmed by the Orange County Sheriff's Office after he was reportedly found dead in a Florida hotel room over the weekend (via People).
"Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room. The man was identified as Robert Saget and pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case," the authorities said via Twitter.
Saget left behind his wife, Kelly Rizzo, as well as three daughters, Aubrey, Lara, and Jennifer, whom he shared with ex-wife Sherri Kramer. Back in 2016, Saget gushed over his children. "They are the light of my life. I am a fortunate man in that all three of my daughters are exceptional," he told the magazine. "[They are] very high beings, very smart people, very wonderful and very brilliant, very beautiful," he added.
Now, Saget's family is speaking out about his heartbreaking death.

Bob Saget's family is currently mourning his sudden death. On Sunday night, just hours after the news of the actor's death broke online, his family released a statement revealing their sorrow over his passing and asking for respect as they process his death, per People. "We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today. He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter," the statement read. "Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world," the statement concluded.
In addition to Saget's family, some of the actor's friends and other members of Hollywood have also spoken out about his death. Saget's longtime friend and "Full House" co-star, John Stamos, was among one of the first to release a statement. "I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock," Stamos wrote via his Twitter account. "I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby."
Meanwhile, Saget's official cause of death has yet to be revealed.
