Is Creed Aventus Cologne Worth It?
For over a decade, Creed's Aventus has become a staple in every cologne collection. Described by the Paris-based perfume house themselves as their "most acclaimed men's fragrance to date," Aventus continues to rank highly in their arsenal as one of the world's most popular colognes (via Creed).
Retailing at a hefty starting price point of $335 for a 50ml bottle, this cologne certainly has a lot to live up to. According to Creed, Aventus was inspired by "the dramatic life of a historic emperor," and celebrates "strength, power, and success." The scent is perfect for "individuals who saver a life well-lived" according to the brand, who also describe Aventus as a "sophisticated" cologne.
The fragrance itself is a composite of rich, fruity notes (via Fragrantica) including a top layer of pineapple, bergamot, blackcurrant leaves, and apple, followed by middle notes of birch, pink berries, patchouli, and jasmine. The base notes include ambergris, sandalwood, oak moss and vanilla.
But is Creed's Aventus really worth the high price point?
Creed's Aventus certainly lives up to the hype
For a cologne at this price range, it's probably best that you try a sample first. But judging by the amount of positive reviews for the fragrance (via Fragantica), there's a chance you'll love it right off the bat. According to men's fashion blog Michael 84, the cologne is certainly worth the price point -– and hype. The reviewer describes Aventus as an "interesting and amazing smell" that combines "an inviting fresh and citrus scent with a woody smell," which ultimately produces "a really alluring scent, smokey and well rounded."
One customer even went so far as to describe Creed's Aventus cologne as "legendary and absolutely brilliant" on perfume review site Parfumo, with the added caveat that seems to be a "fluctuation in the batch quality" meaning that you might not be getting the same sell-out fragrance as those did back when it first launched in 2010.
Either way, if you decide to purchase this expensive cologne, you'll certainly be in for a treat.
