Does Colton Underwood Still Talk To Anyone From Bachelor Nation?
Former "Bachelor" star Colton Underwood is speaking out. Back in April, the former football player took the brave step to come out on national television when he sat down with Robin Roberts from "Good Morning America" and revealed that he's gay (via People). "I've ran from myself for a long time. I've hated myself for a long time, and I'm gay. And I came to terms with that earlier this year and have been processing it. The next step in all of this was letting people know. I'm still nervous. It's been a journey, for sure," he said.
"I'm emotional, but in such a good, happy, positive way," he continued. "I'm the happiest and healthiest I've ever been in my life, and that means the world to me." Underwood went on to reveal that he had a wake up call and wanted to "take back control" of his life before it was too late. He also added that he felt that he was "different since the age of 6."
"Bachelor" viewers watched Underwood lead Season 23 of the show, where he admitted that he was a virgin, and ultimately got engaged to contestant Cassie Randolph. The pair later had a messy split in May 2020, which led to Randolph filing a restraining order against Underwood.
Now, Underwood is speaking out about the connections he made on the show.
Colton Underwood reveals the one person from Bachelor nation that reached out to him after he came out
According to Us Weekly, Colton Underwood hasn't kept up with many relationships since leaving "The Bachelor" franchise. The reality star says that although he made some connections during his time on the show, he hasn't sustained those friendships in the years that have followed. "Unfortunately, I don't have really any relationships in the franchise anymore," he said. However, there is one friendship that has continued on since Underwood's days as "The Bachelor."
The ex-football player admits that he's still close to former "Bachelor" host Chris Harrison. "I don't watch the show. I mean, the only person that I really talked to is Chris [Harrison] still. Chris and I stay in touch," Underwood revealed. "I will say this [since] Chris was about the only one from the franchise who really reached out and sort of let me know that he was there for me, [asking] if there's anything he can do," he added. Meanwhile, Harrison exited the franchise in June 2021 after he ignited controversy with comments that he made about Season 25 winner, Rachael Kirkconnell's racially charged social media posts.
These days, Underwood appears to be thriving. He's got a new reality series about his journey titled "Coming Out Colton." CNN reports that Underwood is also dating political strategist Jordan C. Brown.
