We Finally Have A Release Date For Season 2 Of Bridgerton
On Christmas 2020 Netflix debuted "Bridgerton." Not long after the show was released, fans were hooked. The period drama featured gorgeous actors and actresses, a steamy storyline, and plenty of drama for fans to binge during the holiday season. "Bridgerton" quickly became one of the most popular shows on Netflix and seemed to have everyone talking (via Variety).
The series was based on author Julia Quinn's romance series about the upper crust Bridgerton family and adapted for the streaming service by Shonda Rhimes' company. Season 1 follows the family's oldest daughter, Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) as she makes her debut into London society in hopes of gaining suitors and marrying into a prominent family. When she meets the gorgeous Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page) her life is turned upside down (via Hollywood Life).
In addition to the passionate love story, there is another element of drama as an anonymous author named Lady Whistledown publishes a highly talked about paper with all the gossip about the social scene, including Daphne's love life.
Not long after Season 1 made a huge splash with fans, Season 2 was announced — but a release date wasn't set. Now, fans finally know what the show will return.
Mark your calendars for Bridgerton Season 2
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the premiere of "Bridgerton" Season 2, and now they can finally mark their calendars as Netflix has finally revealed the release date for the second season of its popular series (via BuzzFeed). Fans will be able to see the second installment of the Bridgerton family story on March 25, 2022. While the show's breakout star, Rege-Jean Page, sadly won't be back for new episodes, the rest of the cast is returning as the storyline will shift to follow the oldest Bridgerton sibling, Lord Anthony (Jonathan Bailey).
Season 2 will focus on Anthony's journey as he looks to find a wife and finally settle down, per Decider. The season is based on Julia Quinn's second novel in the series, "The Viscount Who Loved Me." The plot will feature Anthony setting his sights on a woman named Edwina, who arrives from India with her sister Kate. However, when Kate finds out about Anthony's true intentions she makes it her mission to stop the union between him and Edwina, which sparks a connection and passion between them.
Now that we know when Season 2 of "Bridgerton" will debut, fans have plenty of time to read the book before the new episodes begin streaming.
