Who Is Bill Gates' New Son-In-Law Nayel Nassar?

After a nearly two-year engagement, Jennifer Gates, the eldest child of the Microsoft founder, Bill Gates, tied the knot with her longtime beau, Nayel Nassar (via Vogue). Both avid horse riders, the happy couple met through the equestrian network and their close friendship eventually blossomed into young love. Jennifer and Nassar announced their engagement in January 2020 after a romantic ski trip together, both taking to Instagram to share their exciting news.

"You are one of a kind. Absolutely swept me off my feet this past weekend, surprising me in the most meaningful location over one of our many shared passions. I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives learning, growing, laughing and loving together. Yes a million times over," Jennifer wrote at the time.

The couple exchanged their vows on Jennifer's $16 million horse farm in Westchester County, New York, a property that was gifted to her by her parents, Bill and Melinda Gates, after she graduated from Stanford, per Town and Country. Although the world may know a lot about Jennifer and the Gates family, the same cannot be said about her new husband. So, who exactly is Nassar?

Nayel Nassar is successful in his own right

While his name may be less known, Nayel Nassar is just as successful as his wife Jennifer Gates. In fact, according to Vogue, the pair both graduated from Stanford University.

The Egyptian-American was born and raised in Chicago to millionaire parents, who run an architecture and design firm in Kuwait (via Al Arabiya English). In 2017, Nassar brought his now-wife home to meet his family, capturing the special occasion with a commemorative Instagram post. "Memorable times in Kuwait last week with family and old friends. Got to bring Jenn home and give her a glimpse of my childhood. It meant the world to me. Needless to say, she was loved by all," he wrote at the time.

The Stanford alum is also an exceptionally talented show jumper, ranking No. 44 in the world, Fox Business reported. Perhaps one of the most monumental milestones of Nassar's riding career was competing in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics for Egypt, helping his home country qualify for the event for the first time in 61 years, noted by Hollywood Life

Outside of horse riding, Nassar owns his own company, Nassar Stables LLC, based in Encinitas, California — and also co-manages Evergate Stables, alongside his wife.
