Melania Trump Just Received This Honor Alongside Oprah, Michelle Obama, And The Queen
While serving as the United States First Lady, Melania Trump was notoriously silent and private. As the first lady, Melania remained largely in former President Donald Trump's controversial shadow. According to SCMP, Melania only went on one solo international trip and promoted her Be Best campaign. Although, it failed to have any influence on policy.
Since leaving the White House, Melania has mostly remained out of the spotlight and prefers to spend her days at the spa and nights out at dinner with her husband at Mar-a-Lago, CNN reported. "She goes to the spa, has lunch, goes to the spa (again) and has dinner with Donald on the patio ... Rinse and repeat. Every day," one source revealed.
Despite being a historically silent first lady — especially compared to the likes of Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton — Melania has still received a special honor alongside other famous first ladies and prominent women.
Melania Trump is admired by many
On Monday, Dec. 14, pollster YouGov released the results of a global survey of the most admired women and men of 2021. The poll, which consists of votes from 42,000 respondents across 32 countries and terrotories, shows former First Lady Melania Trump in the 16th spot. She is ranked behind powerful women such as Queen Elizabeth II, Oprah Winfrey, Scarlett Johansson, Emma Watson, Taylor Swift, former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Malala Yousafzai, and Priyanka Chopra, among others.
Aside from Michelle and Merkel, other women in politics, like Vice President Kamala Harris, former Secretary of State and First Lady Hillary Clinton, and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, also made the list.
Barack and Michelle Obama earned the top spot in the polls for the most admired men and women in the world yet again, after both earning the same position in the 2020 poll, while actress Angelina Jolie came in second place in the poll for the second year in a row.
