Are Kate And William Really This Strict With Their Children?

Prince William and Kate Middleton may be the future king and queen, but they're also the parents of three young children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, like many other parents, have to balance their work and family lives, and it seems that they've got it down.

"Because of who they are, William and Kate have had to be highly organized parents," a source told The Sun. "But as parents, Wills and Kate have developed this brilliant knack of letting as much as they can seem spontaneous and that's how the children see it."

The insider also admitted that the couple draws inspiration from Kate's humble upbringing when it comes to parenting their children. "She comes from a supportive family so she's very keen on family networks and networks of friends and organizations," the source stated. "As parents they are also very good at rolling up their sleeves and helping out with school events; sports days, fundraisers, and that sort of thing. They try to be just like normal parents with normal parenting challenges. No one ever jumps the queue for anything. They just try to fit in."

However, it appears that William and Kate may also run a tight ship when it comes to the rules surrounding the Cambridge kids, especially when it comes to their public appearances.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are protective of their children

Fans of the royal family know that Prince William and Kate Middleton's children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Princes Louis, are often seen in adorable photos posted by the couple.

However, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are rarely seen out with their brood during official royal events, and it's no accident that the children are kept from those high-profile moments (via Good To Know). Royal expert Duncan Larcombe revealed to OK! (via the Mirror) that William and Kate have established a strict rule about attending events with the kids.

"The reality is that William and Kate have a rule that they do not take the children on any official engagements," he said. "We only really see them on the balcony waving at set piece royal events, but there are exceptions to that rule like when George was at Wembley for the Euros final."

Larcombe added: "It was on a school night and they are pretty strict. The children are in a rather strict regime so that might have been the reason. But the fact it was a televised official engagement it's interesting because I think it shows that William and Kate are still reluctant to focus too greatly officially on their family and their children."

William and Kate know that their children will grow up in the public eye, especially George, who is currently third in line to the throne. However, it seems that they're focused on protecting them as much as possible during childhood.
