Relationship Expert Predicts Trouble Ahead For Prince William And Kate Middleton
Prince William and Kate Middleton always appear to be happy and united in all of their endeavors, and many fans believe that they truly are a perfect match. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary and commemorated the milestone with a batch of brand new photos that appeared to convey their deep love for one another. Photographer Chris Floyd, who snapped the photos of the Cambridges, opened up to Us Weekly shortly after the photo shoot and admitted that William and Kate were a delight to work with.
"I would say that they were just like any married couple ... who seemed to just love being very happy in each other's company. It was that straightforward," Floyd stated. "I just said, 'Look, this is your 10th anniversary, just be the couple that you are with each other and forget that I'm here. And just forget about me,'" he added. In addition, the royals also shared a video of themselves with their three adorable children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — which fans were quick to gush over (via Express).
William and Kate's happiness shines through for the holidays
Prince William and Kate Middleton gave the world a perfect picture of their family happiness with an actual perfect picture of their family. For the 2021 holiday season, the Cambridges shared their annual holiday card on Instagram saying, "Delighted to share a new image of the family, which features on this year's Christmas card."
Kensington Palace explained that the stunning photo was taken on a private family vacation in Jordan while releasing the following statement: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to share a new photograph of their family. The photograph, which features on Their Royal Highnesses' Christmas card this year, shows The Duke and Duchess with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in Jordan earlier this year." In the photo, Prince George looks more grown than ever as William and Kate look like the ideal couple who do not have a care in the world, but is all of that about to change when the weight of one day being king edges closer to William's world?
While William and Kate appear to be the perfect royal family, one relationship expert is now claiming that their happily ever after may come with a few bumps in the road as they move up the ranks of the monarchy.
Are William and Kate headed for trouble?
According to Express, Prince William and Kate Middleton appear to have an easy way about their relationship for now. However, all of that could change as they continue to take on more responsibility within the royal family. Relationship expert Neil Wilkie tells the outlet that he predicts there could be some tough moments ahead for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge when the time comes for William's father, Prince Charles, to ascend to the throne.
The expert admits that William and Kate have had "fairly plain sailing" in their relationship thus far, but the future may be a bit more difficult for the royal couple. "The next bump in the road will be when Queen Elizabeth dies, and Charles becomes king," Wilkie said. "That's going to be the point at which William will have a clearer idea of how many years it's going to be before he becomes King."
Wilkie went on to explain that there will also be "a change in the way in which the royalty governs the country because Charles has got different ideas to Queen Elizabeth. So, it'll be interesting to see whether King Charles just holds the fort for William or whether he tries to be the king that he's always wanted to be and maybe creates a more difficult handover for William," he added.
William may be the preferred monarch
Things might get even more difficult for Prince William and Kate Middleton when Charles becomes king knowing that the British people would prefer if Britain skips over his father in the line of succession, as William is the more popular choice for king, according to Page Six.
An April 2021 Deltapoll Survey (via Twitter) revealed that 47% of British citizens would prefer William as king over Charles, while only 27% are keen on the Prince of Wales taking the throne. Among British women, a full 55% want to see Charles' son take the throne over Charles.
However, Deltapoll co-founder and director Joe Twyman made a point when he tweeted the results of the poll, saying, "This is obviously not decided by the British public, but Prince William is the top choice, by some distance."
Indeed, the laws of Britain's constitutional monarchy ensure that Charles will become king before William (via the Daily Beast), but with the pressure to keep up his popularity weighing over him, will this also cause issues with his marriage to Kate?
