How Krista Allen Feels About Joining The Bold And The Beautiful

Dr. Taylor Hayes is making her "The Bold and the Beautiful" comeback, but, this time, she's going to be played by someone entirely new. Krista Allen, who was last seen in a soap opera as Billie Reed on "Days of Our Lives" in 1999 (via IMDb), will now bring the role of Taylor to life.

Taylor first arrived on the "B&B" scene in the early 1990s as a psychiatrist for the dying Caroline Spencer (Joanna Johnson) and was played by Hunter Tylo. After a brief grieving period, Taylor eventually married Caroline's husband, Ridge Forrester (then played by Ronn Moss and now played by Thorsten Kaye), according to Soaps In Depth.

The pair made up to break up countless times over the years while producing children Steffy, Phoebe, and Thomas. Phoebe was sadly killed, but Steffy and Thomas are now adults supporting Ridge through his latest problems with his on-again-off-again wife, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang).

Whenever Ridge has problems with Brooke, Taylor somehow appears, and this time is no different — except for Allen settling in to make the character of Taylor her own.

Krista Allen is ready to make her The Bold and the Beautiful debut as Taylor Hayes

After spending the first two decades of the 20th century appearing in primetime series like "What About Brian?" and made-for-TV movies like "The Wrong Mr. Right" (via IMDb), Krista Allen is returning to her daytime roots on "The Bold and the Beautiful" and couldn't be more thrilled.

"I got a call that they were looking for a new Taylor, and I got so excited that they were recasting and that I was even in the mix that they were coming to me!" Allen told Soap Opera Digest. "If there was ever any type of role to come back to daytime with, it would be this one. I couldn't have asked for a better role to step into — or bigger shoes to fill."

According to TV Insider, "B&B" contacted Hunter Tylo to reprise the role she last played in 2019, but she declined the invitation. So, Allen got to jump into the part and slip into her shoes, saying she is up for "a good challenge."

"The day I was offered the role, I was bouncing off the wall," she told Soap Opera Digest. "I was just so excited and I felt so grateful and so blessed and just so lucky. Those are the three things I felt. I am really excited!"

With Taylor back in town, will she be the nail in the coffin of Brooke and Ridge's latest go at a toxic and troubled marriage? That remains to be seen.
