The Truth About Lookalike Love Star Jasmine's Home
A reality show where Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, Marilyn Monroe, and Barbie talk about their love lives — we imagine the pitch for "Lookalike Love" went something like that. The Lifetime show premiered in July this year, featuring four celebrity doppelgängers who've devoted themselves to perfecting their idol's looks as well as "speech patterns, extravagant fashion, and mannerisms," per Hype Magazine. Exploring the complexities of having partners who may see them as the celebrities themselves instead of who they really are, the show gives you an interesting perspective on plastic surgery and identities.
Jasmine Chiswell is one of the stars of "Lookalike Love," a woman who channels Marilyn Monroe in her wardrobe, hairstyles, and personality. She began her transformation as Monroe three years ago, per The Press Free, and currently has 13 million followers on TikTok for her Old Hollywood aesthetic. However, Chiswell's TikTok account has another star: her glamorous home in Hollywood.
Jasmine Chiswell's house could be haunted by the ghost of Marilyn Monroe
Many on TikTok are curious about Jasmine Chiswell, leaving her with thousands of comments that ask her just how she styles her 1950s ensembles and curates her vintage aesthetic to match Marilyn Monroe. However, most of the other questions pertain to her stunning Mediterranean-style home, which also happens to be the former home of Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio, according to The New York Post.
In 2018, Chiswell and her husband saw the house while driving around Hollywood. "We fell in love with it immediately... Not just because it was Marilyn's house, but it also reminded me of Scotland in a really bizarre way," Chiswell, who was born in Scotland, told the outlet who was born. They purchased the house for a cool $2.73 million, and Chiswell's followers are always invited to see more of it with elaborate house tours.
However, Chiswell also reveals an eery detail about the mansion: "Is the house haunted? Yes," she says in one TikTok. She also went on the British TV show "This Morning" to reveal details about the eerie moments she's experienced. "There's been so many weird things that's happened ... My husband and I have tried to debunk the things we hear, but so many people have experiences things we just can't explain," she said. "We're just both not sure, but we've had a psychic over who believes it is [Marilyn Monroe] and Joe [DiMaggio] and possibly another ghost that likes to play tricks."
While nobody knows for sure, at least the house brings clout along with the spirits.
