Lacey Chabert announced the death of her sister Wendy Chabert on November 24, 2021. Lacey confirmed her sister's death through a touching Instagram post. The "Mean Girls" star shared a throwback photo of her sister from 1994 and captioned the post, "My beautiful sister, Wendy."
The actress also shared that her family was in mourning, writing, "Our hearts are shattered into a million pieces that I don't know how we will ever put back together again now that you're gone. We love and adore you more than we can ever say and we will continue to forever and ever and ever. The shocking loss has left us so broken-hearted." Lacey continued, "Our lives will never be the same without my dear sister, but we cling to the promises of Jesus that we will be together again in eternity. Please keep our family, especially her two boys, in your hearts and prayers. Thank you so much."
Friends and loved ones flooded the comments section offering their condolences. Lacey's friend and fellow teen-star Candace Cameron Bure commented, "Lacy[sic], we are praying for you, your family, and Wendy's family. We love you, always here for you my sweet sweet friend" (via E!).

The sisters were very close, with Lacey often sharing touching photos of them together on her Instagram. Only five days prior to the death announcement, Lacey had shared a birthday post that included a photo of the pair as children. The caption read, "Wishing my sister Crissy the happiest birthday today!!!! Crissy has the most special heart. She's been my best friend and stood by me through it all my whole life. Love you so much, KeeKee!" The close bond of the sisters was evident to all.
