Twitter Is In Stitches Over Piers Morgan's COVID-19 Comment
Piers Morgan has always been a controversial figure in the television news circuit. Morgan's problematic behavior has been going on for years now. Recently, the TV news host and journalist came after the Royals, stating, "On Monday, I said I didn't believe Meghan Markle in her Oprah interview. I've had time to reflect on this opinion, and I still don't," he tweeted. "If you did, OK. Freedom of speech is a hill I'm happy to die on. Thanks for all the love, and hate. I'm off to spend more time with my opinions" (via The National News).
While many people were upset with the comments directed at Prince Harry and Markle, it got worse when Morgan decided to talk about the COVID-19 pandemic. He compared the British Government to Hitler and the Nazis for lockdown measures taken during the global pandemic (via the Independent).
Morgan would end up getting the virus himself and Twitter has been holding him accountable for his commentary throughout the pandemic and before his positive test result.
Twitter had a field day with his commentary
Morgan believes he contracted the virus at the Euro 2020 final (via Evening Standard). He has been battling symptoms and side effects for well over a month now, including an eye issue he believes he came down with from constant coughing fits (via The Huffington Post).
Now, months after his original positive test, Morgan took to Twitter to share his healing journey. "Eighteen weeks today since I caught Covid [and] still got zero smell, little taste [and] zombie-like energy levels. Anyone else had this long covid cr*p and found any miracle cures? The Christmas season beckons and as things stand, I'll be as much fun as one of Prince Harry's sermons."
Other users were quickly responding to him, saying things like, "Your taste has always been missing Piers. Don't sweat on it." Another user replied, "Not to do with Covid, this is what happens when you spend your life with your head stuck up other people's backsides." Twitter was not holding back!
