Are These The Luxury Digs Meghan And Harry Stayed At On Their Recent Trip To New York?

New details have emerged about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's luxury digs on their most recent trip to New York City.

According to People, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stopped by the Big Apple in September 2021 to attend a number of important events, including the Global Citizen Live concert in Central Park. During the pair's special appearance at the event, Prince Harry and Markle spoke of the importance for COVID-19 vaccine equality around the world.

Addressing crowds at Global Citizen Live, the Duchess said, "Every single person on this planet has a fundamental right to get this vaccine. That's the point, but that's not happening." She continued, "While in this country and many others, you can go almost anywhere and get vaccinated, billions of people around the world cannot. This year, the world's expected to produce enough doses to meet the target of vaccinating 70% of people in every single country. But it is wrong that so much of the vaccine supply has only gone to just 10 wealthy nations so far, and not everyone else. It's just not OK."

During the couple's NYC visit, many had assumed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had stayed over in a swanky New York City hotel. However, according to Page Six, the pair opted for some rather unconventional accommodation instead.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's NYC accommodation was unexpected

According to the outlet, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stayed over in a luxurious apartment at 860 United Nations Plaza on Manhattan's East Side during their most recent New York City visit.

Speaking to Page Six, a source shared details of the couple's stay. "They had eight bodyguards and a surveillance van on site — and they'd go in and out through the basement." The insider also revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were "staying in a friend's four-bedroom apartment with river views." Although, it is unclear who the friend in question actually is.

A four-bedroom penthouse inside the United Nations Plaza is currently listed for sale for $3.75 million, while a three-bedroom, 4,000-square-foot penthouse apartment in the same building is currently on sale for a whopping $6.9 million.

In September 2021, it was previously assumed that the pair had stayed over at the famous Carlyle Hotel in New York City, which was the accommodation of choice for the Duke of Sussex's late mother, Princess Diana.
