Kim Cattrall Just Landed An Exciting New TV Gig

Fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere of the "How I Met Your Mother" spinoff series, "How I Met Your Father." The show is set to air on Hulu, and the streaming service is said to be looking to recreate the fan following of the original series with the 10-episode order, per ELLE. "HIMYF" will star former "Lizzie McGuire" star Hilary Duff, who will play the lead character named Sophie, telling her son the story of how she met his father. Of course, the show will be set in none other than New York City. The original show's creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are back for the new series, and Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger will serve as showrunners.

"We are honored by their passion and vision, and look forward to helping them tell a legendary new story. Thanks to all the 'HIMYM' fans out there who waited for it," Bays and Thomas said in a statement, adding that they're happy to pass the torch to the new team (via Deadline). In addition to Duff's star power, other cast members include Francia Raisa, Chris Lowell, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, and Suraj Sharma (via The Hollywood Reporter).

This week, it was also announced that "Sex and the City" alum Kim Cattrall would also be joining the cast in a very exciting role.

Kim Cattrall has been cast in a special role for Hulu's How I Met Your Father

According to Pop Culture, actress Kim Cattrall has officially joined the cast of Hulu's "How I Met Your Father." Cattrall is best known for playing the role of Samantha Jones on HBO's hit series "Sex and the City," and reprised her role for two feature films. However, the actress recently made headlines when it was revealed that her character wouldn't be returning to the HBO Max sequel series titled "And Just Like That." However, Cattrall will be busy with her new TV gig as she's been tapped to play an older version of Hilary Duff's character, Sophie. Cattrall will serve as the narrator for the show, much like Bob Saget did for "How I Met Your Mother" when he voiced the character of older Ted Mosby (play by Josh Radnor).

It remains to be seen if Cattrall will actually get any screen time on "HIMYF." However, fans will certainly love to hear her famous, sultry voice narrate the show as a brand new story is told in the "HIMYM" universe. Currently, no release date has been given for the series. However, fans are on the edge of their seats waiting for the pilot to premiere.
