The Surprising Friendship Between Kourtney Kardashian And Addison Rae
In the world of celebrities, the strangest friendships often seem to emerge. There are crossovers of completely different careers and even different continents. At the end of the day, they all end up circulating the same events and perhaps bonding over how famous they are. However, few manage to match the confusion that surrounds the union of Kourtney Kardashian and Addison Rae.
Kardashian has been a household name ever since "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" aired in 2007, while some remember her even earlier back when linked to her famous father the late Robert Kardashian. Meanwhile, Rae's fame only dates back to 2019, when she joined the popular social media platform TikTok.
Somehow, Rae's fame still manages to contend with that of the Kardashians. Becoming a household name herself, Rae has transformed into a huge celebrity as a result of her 60-second dance videos — even earning herself an invite to the 2021 Met Gala, which people weren't too happy about (via E! Online).
Their completely different trajectories is just one of the strange factors that left people confused as to how the two have now become close friends almost joined at the hip at all times.
A 21-year age gap didn't stopped this friendship from blossoming
The mother of three, Kourtney Kardashian, is 42, while Addison Rae is 21, a more than 21-year age difference. While the age difference would suggest the two had a mother-daughter type of bond, it quickly became apparent that that wasn't the case at all. The pair were close friends that worked out together, filmed TikToks, and lounged by the pool gossiping (via Insider).
Once the sheer confusion surrounding this friendship subsided, people were ready to throw out accusations. Many have rumored that the pair were hooking up, which they adamantly denied and rejected on an episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" (via Cinema Blend). Others have assumed that the friendship is a desperate PR stunt orchestrated by the duo (via Cosmopolitan). It would certainly make sense considering how much Rae has gotten out of the friendship, even earning herself a spot as a face of Kim Kardashian's SKIMS campaign (via Paper Magazine).
What began with Rae simply making a cameo in Mason Disick's TikTok has resulted in her getting on the recent season of the hit reality TV show "Keeping Up With The Kardashians." Who knows where else it'll lead the TikTok star, though some suspect she's been tossed aside for Kardashian's new partner in crime, Megan Fox.
